Introducing Downloadable Forms: Your Form, Forever

Formstr is adding a unique new feature you don't see anywhere, which is why we had to write a whole article to explain to you what it is.

You can now download any form as a standalone HTML file.

That means your form lives in a single file you can open locally, share directly, host anywhere, or archive. It continues to work just like it does on Formstr — encrypting and submitting responses to Nostr relays.

You don’t need formstr.app to keep it alive.
As long as relays exist, your form does too.

With this update, you can:

• Export your form as a single .html file
• Open and use it offline or locally
• Share it via any channel — email, USB, Torrents
• Host it anywhere — your own website, GitHub Pages, etc.
• Still submit responses to relays — no backend required

The form is yours. The file is yours. It keeps working.

✍️ How To Use It#

1. Go to formstr.app
2. Create or open a form
3. Click the “⋮” on the dashboard menu cards.
4. Select “Download”
5. The file gets automatically downloaded You can open it in any modern browser. The form will load instantly — and behave exactly as it does on the main site.

No internet required until submission. No calls to formstr.app. Just one file.

• Offline-first: Take forms into places with limited or no connectivity
• Self-hosted forms: Put them on your own domain or static site
