The Podcast screen in Nostr Compass 1.3.0 now shows the entire newsletter, with a horizontally scrollable row of voice notes after each section. Read a story, listen to the discussion and record beside the section you want to contribute to. Replies stay attached to their original note.
Search the newsletter, verified contributor names or trusted transcripts to jump to the relevant text or recording while the complete issue stays visible. Visitors can read and listen as guests; recording requires contributor access and Amber signing.
Playback has timestamps, seeking and speed controls. Older browser recordings that lack duration metadata get a checksum-verified, lossless temporary playback copy. The original audio and signed event are unchanged, and the copy is never uploaded. One note plays at a time; starting a recording stops playback.
Your recording stays on the device before upload. Sending shows the same card as pending, and a delivery check appears only after relay confirmation. Public audio and Nostr notes can be copied by others. Device storage failure or uninstalling the app can still destroy local data.
The release retains the pure-black interface, white text, outlined controls and cached profile photos. Verification includes 36 unit cases and eight tests on a physical GrapheneOS phone covering recording, recovery, guest search, section navigation and native seeking. This is not a claim of end-to-end Amber upload testing or zero network failures.
