Tally 0.7.0: every deadline in one place
Travel records are useful only when they answer the practical question: what needs attention next? Tally 0.7.0 adds a unified Deadlines tab that brings document expiries, permit limits, residence-return dates, the current stay, and projected country limits into one chronological view.
A clearer deadline dashboard#
The new screen shows the country or document, the exact deadline, and a plain-language explanation of why it matters. Long-range dates now read naturally in months or in years and months, while calculations continue to use exact calendar dates underneath. Dashboard projections and local notifications share one calculation path so they cannot quietly disagree.
Residences saved before Tally gained automatic starter rules are also handled more helpfully. If a supported residence is missing its official-source maintenance reminder, Tally can offer the appropriate starter without duplicating an equivalent rule the user already created.
Smoother country search and forms#
Country search now keeps the full, locale-aware result list responsive while the keyboard is open, including aliases. Full-screen forms account for Android's system navigation area, so the final actions remain reachable instead of being covered at the bottom of the screen.
Offline and verifiable#
Tally remains fully offline: no network permission, account, analytics, or location permission. Travel data stays in the encrypted local database, and reminders are generated on the device.
The 0.7.0 source is revision d340c8602ebee3c0720229b23a8f0e70ff5782dc. Two clean builds produced the same unsigned APK hash. The final production APK was then signed with Tally's established release certificate and verified as non-debuggable.
Validation included 293 JVM tests, lint, Android-test compilation, 97 instrumentation tests on a physical Pixel 6a, and a successful in-place upgrade from 0.6.0. Coverage measured 95.5% of lines, 72.7% of branches, 86.8% of methods, and 96.9% of classes. The production APK SHA-256 is 6933453db90c497a99f48c259a71d59d12fb32349d6ac2fd200133b792cf6b5f.
Five community proposals were reviewed for this release. Their useful changes were integrated after source review, automated checks, and device validation. Future validated contributor commits may retain their original authorship while Tally's project identity remains the verified committer and release signer.
