Foundation Devices (makers of Passport) reported on Oct 25-26, 2026 that its website and email had been compromised and phishing emails were going out to customers and mailing-list subscribers. Some of those emails included the recipient's full name and postal address. This checklist applies to any hardware-wallet vendor incident.

The one rule#

No real vendor, support agent, "recovery tool" or "migration" ever needs your seed words. If anything asks you to type your 12/24 words into a website, an app on your computer, a form or a chat, that is the attack. The words go only into the signing device itself, and only when you are restoring.
