Nunchuk Introduces Automated Wallet Rollover with Advanced Coin Control (1 min) Nunchuk, a Bitcoin multisig wallet with premium features such as inheritance planning and scheduled transactions, has released an update introducing the Wallet Rollover feature. This tool automates the process of migrating from an old wallet to a new one while maintaining the user's preferred coin management strategy. The rollover feature allows users to transfer funds between any wallet types, preserve their coin segregation strategy during transfers, and enhance privacy through randomized transaction broadcasting. Additional features include advanced coin control during rollover, automatic randomized broadcasting for improved privacy, and portal device integration with key replacement for unassisted wallets. Bug fixes and improvements are also included in this update. More information can be found on their blog post, GitHub repositories (Android, Desktop), and App Store link (iOS).

Nutshell v0.16.0: New Binary Token Format, Multinut Payments, Ecash Fees & More (2 min) Nutshell, a Chaumian Ecash wallet and mint for Bitcoin Lightning, has released version 0.16.0 with significant updates and new features. The highlights include:

  1. New binary token format (Cashu TokenV4) that saves around 40% space compared to the previous format.
  2. Offline wallet functionality and enhanced coin selection for improved transaction speed, privacy, and minimized future fees.
  3. Ecash fee support according to NUT-02 changes, determined by the number of Ecash inputs to a transaction. Note that wallet support for fees is still in development and may cause compatibility issues with most current wallets.
  4. WebSocket subscriptions allowing wallets to receive notifications for state changes of mint quotes, melt quotes, and ecash spent states.
  5. Introduction of Multinut payments supported by the LND backend, which remains experimental.
  6. Preparation for cloud deployment with extracted mint state into the database for parallel Kubernetes cluster deployments.
  7. Euro Ecash support through StrikeWallet for Strike users and FakeWallet, as well as CLN Rest support for CLN through clnrest.py plugin.
  8. Protocol updates including NUT-04 and NUT-5 state fields to represent the quote state in mint and melt quotes.

Please remember to back up your mint database before upgrading to this new version.

Unify Wallet v0.0.2: Payjoin Over Nostr (1 min) Unify Wallet is an early release of a BIP-78 compliant Payjoin wallet, supporting both macOS and iOS platforms. The latest version (v0.0.2) stores seed data encrypted on the local device, supports passphrases, and has limited functionality on mainnet. It launches in "Demo" mode connected to a Signet wallet over Tor, allowing users to test creating/receiving standard and Payjoin transactions. Users can add their own nodes by exporting RPC credentials to bitcoin.conf and restarting the node. The wallet is pre-alpha, likely to change, and has not been thoroughly tested yet. Best user experience can be achieved with a local Bitcoin Core node running.
