Fedi's Community 'Super App' Officially Launched (1 min) Fedi has released its "community super app," a decentralized alternative to legacy apps that combines financial transactions, private chat, and social media in one platform. The app uses the Fedimint protocol for Bitcoin custody, Lightning for faster transactions, Nostr for web of trust and discovery, and Matrix for secure communication. Fedi is currently "source available" and will transition to a full open-source license by 2026. The company has partnered with several nonprofits and plans to charge 21 basis points for outgoing transactions while receiving funds will be free.
