Offline Speech to Text 0.6.2
Offline Speech to Text 0.6.2 fixes automatic voice-keyboard recording when Android moves the keyboard between apps or text fields.
An editor transition before the first audio buffer is now treated as a normal lifecycle handoff instead of a microphone-permission failure. When Android keeps the voice keyboard visible for a new editor, recording starts correctly for that destination. If captured speech can no longer be inserted into its original field, the transcription is preserved for private recovery rather than being lost.
The APK stays compact and contains no bundled speech model. On first setup, the app recommends a model for the device and language, then downloads it only after the user chooses to do so. Once a model is installed, recognition remains fully on-device; audio and recognized text are not uploaded or retained as a transcription history.
The release was verified as a production-signed, non-debuggable ARM64 APK on a physical GrapheneOS Pixel, including repeated keyboard/app lifecycle transitions. The published download is SHA-256 a8d89e22455cbfb6963a3a59444089e3691e332505588b88e5b5bcbea03f954c.
