So, here is the thing: professionally I only ever work in a tiny corner of the worldwide web, on specific features at the functional level, without going into too much detail. Of course that has given me a whole bouquet of relevant know-how, and I did manage to build this website entirely without a CMS framework like WordPress, Joomla, TYPO3, Drupal or whatever they are all called. I also tried, to the best of my knowledge and belief, to make the site responsive. Sure, anyone with a chatbot can now list x bugs for me and explain with their chest puffed out how clueless and naive I am. And yes, please do, please waste your time teaching an old dog new tricks. I naturally try to be as learning-resistant as I can.
The Naysayers Are Right#
But of course all the naysayers have a point: there is always room for improvement, and there are always new things you can build in to make a potential visitor's stay more pleasant. And it is best when you figure it out yourself.
Dude, That Cannot Work!#
So it happened that I wanted to use my Stegofile-Concealer on a mobile device, and I did, and it works wonderfully. But while I lingered on the page, swiping around the small screen with my finger, I read "drag and drop" and thought: "Dude, that can't work!" The result: let's build a mobile version that deserves the name.
What came out of it is the Stegofile-Concealer PWA. It is a Progressive Web App, so you can install it as a stand-alone website, complete with service worker and all the bells and whistles. Nice! Try it out and share it with everyone who also wants to hide messages in pictures!
Find the Hidden Message#

You can try out how the Stegofile-Concealer works with the picture above. A secret, encrypted message is hidden in it. The PIN is: SAFARI and the password is: DragNDrop2PWA! But be aware, the image in this read was modified/scaled by the image-hoster! So you will have to find the original image in order to make the steganographic magick work. I am sure you will.
Or better yet, give it a go with your own PNG images.
Cheers, Alexander
