Security is a pillar of sovereignty, so I built a hacking lab to learn how I get hacked

Security is a pillar of sovereignty, so I built a hacking lab to learn how I get hacked

Data sovereignty is usually sold as hiding, but real control starts with understanding how your data is actually taken. To learn that honest half of the story, I built a fully isolated hacking lab on my own desktop, in a single afternoon, together with Claude Code. It is a small copy of the real world that touches nothing real: one private network with no route to my home or the internet, an attacker machine with the full Kali toolkit, a set of deliberately vulnerable Linux and web targets, and a miniature Windows domain. Every target resets from a snapshot, and every "secret" inside, the bank statement, the crypto seed, the reused password, is a planted fake. You practice the attack so you earn the defense. What makes the lab more than a sandbox is its tutor: an open qwen3 model running locally through Ollama, free of the usual guardrails and connected by retrieval to two private knowledge bases, the lab's own living documentation and my personal Joplin notebooks. Nothing leaves the machine. For a beginner this removes the biggest barrier, the fear of asking a stupid question, and it raises an obvious question of its own: an unlimited AI wired to offensive tools, what can go wrong? The answer is the whole design. The model has no guardrails, so the guardrails live in the isolation of the lab and in the operator. Inside a sealed room, against machines I own, that knowledge is simply education, and it is how sovereignty over your own security is earned, one brick at a time.

Same Money, Different Soul: why I build for Bitcoin Blake2b

Same Money, Different Soul: why I build for Bitcoin Blake2b

Bitcoin split in two in August 2026. Everyone who held bitcoin in self-custody now owns the same coins twice, once on Bitcoin and once on Bitcoin Blake2b. The money on both chains is identical: the same 21 million cap, the same keys, the same history. What differs is the governance. The new chain changed the proof of work after the miners ignored a rule that many users wanted, it limits data in blocks for one year, and it has no ETFs, no treasury companies and no institution funding its developers. It is also small and fragile. Its hashrate is far below Bitcoin's, it trades only on two thin no-KYC exchanges, most of its software is not audited, and three pools already mine most of its blocks. The duplicate coins show the core lesson. The big ETFs have contractually given up their fork coins, and Coinbase, which holds the keys for most of them, has said nothing. Only people who hold their own keys can really use the new coins, and anyone who moves old coins without replay protection may give away the other half without noticing. My own view is that sound money needs an exit when voice no longer works, and an exit is only real if normal people can run it at home. That is why I build software for Bitcoin Blake2b with TwentyOne.Life. I see it as insurance against capture, not as an investment, and I prefer to help build it while it is still small.

Has Bitcoin Been Captured? The Governance Crisis That Led to BLAKE2b

Has Bitcoin Been Captured? The Governance Crisis That Led to BLAKE2b

BIP-110 may have failed to win miner support, but its failure exposed something important about Bitcoin governance. Miners are economic actors, not guardians of protocol philosophy, and sovereignty ultimately depends on the ability of users to run their own software, reject rules they do not accept, and continue building when consensus breaks down. The emergence of the BLAKE2b hard fork turns that principle into a live experiment: when the existing mining infrastructure does not follow, a community can change proof of work, rebuild the mining ecosystem, and let the market decide whether the new chain deserves to survive. What I support is not a claim that BLAKE2b is automatically “the real Bitcoin.” I support the right to experiment, fork, verify independently, run nodes, mine with compatible hardware, and build alternative infrastructure without asking permission. Bitcoin sovereignty is not about guaranteeing that your preferred rules will win. It is about preserving the ability to say no, choose different rules, and prove through real economic participation whether an alternative can stand on its own.

Can the current economic and political system be changed from within?

Can the current economic and political system be changed from within?

This article explores whether the current economic and political system can truly be reformed from within, arguing that structural incentives tied to debt-based money make deep change nearly impossible. Drawing on Jeff Booth’s thesis that technology naturally drives abundance while the monetary system requires expansion, it highlights the growing tension between exponential productivity and financial instability. From both a professional consulting perspective and a Bitcoiner viewpoint, the conclusion is that meaningful transformation rarely happens inside broken systems. Instead, real change comes from building parallel alternatives, steadily, responsibly, and brick by brick.

Cycles, Crises, and Sovereign Resilience

Cycles, Crises, and Sovereign Resilience

This piece examines the convergence of generational, debt, and ownership cycles and argues that systemic resets are recurring features of history, not anomalies. Independent frameworks from generational theory, long-term debt analysis, and ownership structure all point to the same conclusion: prolonged debt expansion, rising inequality, and eroding trust eventually force structural change. Today, these cycles are aligning, suggesting that traditional policy tools are losing effectiveness and that a broad institutional reset is already underway or imminent. The implication is practical rather than predictive. Periods of crisis expose hidden risks in leverage, intermediaries, and custodial ownership, while directly held assets and skills prove more resilient. Preparation, therefore, is not about fear or timing markets, but about reducing dependency on fragile systems and building sovereignty incrementally. In this view, resilience becomes a form of responsibility, positioning individuals and families to navigate systemic change deliberately, brick by brick.

Winter Is the Best Time to Stay Humble and Stack Sats

Winter is the ideal moment to slow down and reconnect with Bitcoin’s core purpose: sovereignty through self-custody, predictable monetary rules, resilient decentralisation, and a low-time-preference mindset rooted in long-term responsibility. Even as markets fall and global uncertainty rises, Bitcoin’s intrinsic values become clearer, a savings technology built to outlast cycles and protect future generations. While real decentralisation challenges exist in mining, hardware, and pool concentration, the global Bitcoin community continues strengthening the network year after year. This season, focus not on price, but on the principles that make Bitcoin a foundation for a sovereign life.

How Do We Raise Children With Non-Fiat Values in a Fiat World?

How Do We Raise Children With Non-Fiat Values in a Fiat World?

Becoming a grandfather reshaped how I think about the future and the values we pass on to the next generation. Holding my grandson Oskar made me realise how essential it is to teach children principles like fairness, responsibility, scarcity, honesty, and sovereignty, long before they encounter complex technologies or financial systems. This inspired the creation of “Little Satoshi’s Big Lessons – 21 Stories for a Sovereign Life,” a children’s book series designed to translate Bitcoin’s core values into simple, joyful, and relatable stories. Without using technical terms or Bitcoin vocabulary, the series helps children internalise timeless principles through the adventures of Satoshi the Squirrel and his collection of “satoshi nuts” of wisdom. The project fills a gap in the Bitcoin and education space by offering parents, grandparents, and educators a playful and meaningful way to teach foundational life values. Each of the 21 parts mirrors Bitcoin’s 21 million supply and focuses on one core lesson, making the concepts both accessible and memorable. In a world where trust in systems is declining and attention is fragmented, teaching children sovereignty, patience, resilience, and critical thinking becomes more important than ever. This series aims to plant those seeds early, helping young readers grow into thoughtful, independent adults who naturally understand the deeper meaning behind Bitcoin’s philosophy.

Concept: Bitcoin as My Second Job - The Sovereign Business Model

Concept: Bitcoin as My Second Job - The Sovereign Business Model

In a world where businesses depend on fragile systems, shifting regulations, and constant external pressure, Bitcoin offers a radically different path. It has no CEO, no employees, and no promises, yet it operates with perfect reliability, 24/7. By treating Bitcoin DCA as a second job, individuals can run the most efficient business imaginable: one that converts discipline into sovereignty, and time into freedom. Bitcoin doesn’t generate yield in the traditional sense; it builds character, patience, and independence. The true yield of Bitcoin is not found in interest rates or profits, but in principles. It rewards consistency over speculation, and long-term thinking over short-term gain. Through this process, you cultivate knowledge, discipline, health, and mindset, the foundations of a sovereign life. Over time, these intangible yields compound into something even more powerful: generational wealth that cannot be inflated, confiscated, or corrupted.

Don’t Wait for Permission - Build What’s Missing

A Call to Builders, Thinkers, and Stackers, is a manifesto for those who understand that real change doesn’t come from reforming broken systems but from building new ones rooted in truth and sovereignty. It traces the evolution from the Bitcoin Whitepaper’s spark in 2008 to today’s growing movement of individuals reclaiming their lives through sound money, real health, digital independence, and family resilience. Drawing from the philosophy behind "Brick by Brick: Building a Sovereign Life on Bitcoin", the article weaves together the interconnected domains of sovereignty, money, health, data, attention, and energy, showing how each pillar strengthens the others and creates a foundation for a self-reliant, meaningful life. The piece calls on readers to become active participants in this transformation, to think deeply, act deliberately, and build what’s missing. It introduces TwentyOne.Life as a platform for collaboration among builders, thinkers, and stackers who live by proof-of-work principles and value creation over consumption. Ultimately, the article is both a reflection and an invitation: to leave behind the decaying structures of the fiat world and join in constructing the parallel, one brick, one action, one sovereign decision at a time.

A New All-Time High - and a New Era of Sovereignty

A unified visual narrative was created using Bitcoin-orange illustrations contrasting fiat decay with Bitcoin-powered strength and sovereignty. Key themes: Collapse of fiat, broken tracks, sinking ships, crumbling paper. Bitcoin as foundation, bricks forming walls, trees, lifeboats, medicine, and campfires. Health and clarity over chaos, junk food, pills, and notifications replaced with focus, strength, and natural living. Individual and collective empowerment, from lone ascension to community building. The final mountaintop scene captures the essence: Bitcoin as peace and power rising above a fading world.

Cognitive Debt: The Hidden Cost of Using AI to Think for Us

Cognitive Debt: The Hidden Cost of Using AI to Think for Us

This article explores how heavy reliance on AI tools like ChatGPT may reshape human thinking. A recent MIT study with 54 participants found that AI-assisted writing lowered brain connectivity, reduced recall, weakened ownership of ideas, and produced more homogeneous language. The researchers call this effect “cognitive debt”, a buildup of mental costs from outsourcing too much thinking to machines. While AI delivers real benefits in transformation projects and productivity, overuse risks eroding critical human skills such as memory, authentic communication, and conflict resolution. Drawing on Simon Sinek’s warning that “AI is a great boat—but you still need to learn to swim,” the article argues for mindful, sovereign use of AI. Recommendations include balancing AI and non-AI work, reading deeply, engaging in real debates, and even hosting personal AI systems to retain control. The core message: embrace AI’s power, but don’t abandon the human “muscles” that make us resilient, authentic, and independent.

When the State Freezes Your Bank Account: A Wake-Up Call for Financial Sovereignty

When the Bank of Thailand froze 3 million accounts and imposed strict transfer limits to fight scams, millions of innocent citizens suddenly lost access to their own money. This incident highlights a broader global trend: as governments deploy digital controls to manage risk, individuals face shrinking financial autonomy. The Sovereign Individual foresaw this clash between state power and personal freedom, and today Bitcoin emerges as a practical tool for sovereignty, offering censorship-resistant, self-custodied money that cannot be arbitrarily frozen or limited.

Future-Proofing Bitcoin: Self-Sovereignty vs. Illicit Content on the Blockchain

Future-Proofing Bitcoin: Self-Sovereignty vs. Illicit Content on the Blockchain

Bitcoin Core v30, scheduled for release in October 2025, will remove the long-standing limit on OP_RETURN data, allowing nearly 4 MB of arbitrary information per transaction. Supporters claim this change aligns Bitcoin with its censorship-resistant ethos and cleans up harmful workarounds like Ordinals, but critics warn it invites spam, bloats the blockchain, and opens the door for illicit material, including CSAM, to be stored immutably. Such a development could damage Bitcoin’s reputation, expose node operators to legal risk, and provide governments or institutions with justification to clamp down on the network. In response, a growing number of Bitcoiners are running Bitcoin Knots, a conservative alternative that enforces stricter data limits and filtering options. Personally, I have been running Knots for over four months to ensure my nodes don’t relay illicit content, and I have stopped supporting companies like River or Blockstream that endorse Core v30. Looking forward, institutions such as BlackRock may prefer a “clean” Bitcoin and could even legitimise a fork to protect their investments. To future-proof the network, Bitcoiners must act now — rejecting unlimited data storage and defending Bitcoin’s true purpose as sound, sovereign money.

Still Taking the Blue Pill? Fiat Has You Trapped in the Fog

We live in a fog woven by fiat money, a haze of debt, junk food, surveillance, distraction, and fragile energy. Most accept this as normal, swallowing the blue pill every day. Bitcoin as Medicine for Mind and Money

Bitcoin is more than money, it is medicine for both mind and body. By breaking free from fiat’s distorted incentives, it restores clarity where there was fog, patience where there was restlessness, and sovereignty where there was dependency. Just as sound money rewards long-term thinking, it encourages choices that heal: real food over processed substitutes, strength over sedation, and attention reclaimed from distraction. Bitcoin is not only a protocol of trust but a prescription for living well, the first brick in rebuilding a sovereign life.

Escaping Fiat Convenience: Reclaiming Health and Life Beyond a Broken System

Fiat money has not only debased our savings, it has debased our lives. What looks like convenience in food, health, and attention is in fact corruption, calories without nutrients, pills without healing, endless distraction without focus. In Brick by Brick: Building a Sovereign Life on Bitcoin I explore how this erosion touches every part of our existence, and how Bitcoin provides a foundation to rebuild. Escaping fiat convenience doesn’t happen in one leap, but one sovereign action at a time, a meal, a choice, a sat. Brick by brick, we reclaim resilience and freedom.

BitChat: Jack Dorsey’s Leap Into Decentralized, Off-Grid Communication

BitChat: Jack Dorsey’s Leap Into Decentralized, Off-Grid Communication

Jack Dorsey’s latest project, BitChat, is a decentralized messaging app that enables communication without internet, cell service, or centralized servers. By using a Bluetooth mesh network, each phone becomes both a user and a relay, allowing messages to hop device-to-device until they reach their destination. With no accounts, no phone numbers, and end-to-end encryption for private chats and password-protected channels, BitChat offers a radically different model of communication, one focused on sovereignty, privacy, and resilience in scenarios where traditional infrastructure fails. However, this independence comes with trade-offs. BitChat’s range is limited to local environments, reliability is “best effort” compared to the smoothness of centralized apps, and the user experience remains minimalistic. While it cannot replace global messengers like WhatsApp or Signal, BitChat represents a powerful complement: an off-grid tool for censorship resistance and emergency communication. In short, BitChat embodies the decentralization ethos, trading convenience for sovereignty, and challenges us to rethink how communication can be built, controlled, and protected.
