Same Money, Different Soul: why I build for Bitcoin Blake2b
Bitcoin split in two in August 2026. Everyone who held bitcoin in self-custody now owns the same coins twice, once on Bitcoin and once on Bitcoin Blake2b. The money on both chains is identical: the same 21 million cap, the same keys, the same history. What differs is the governance. The new chain changed the proof of work after the miners ignored a rule that many users wanted, it limits data in blocks for one year, and it has no ETFs, no treasury companies and no institution funding its developers. It is also small and fragile. Its hashrate is far below Bitcoin's, it trades only on two thin no-KYC exchanges, most of its software is not audited, and three pools already mine most of its blocks. The duplicate coins show the core lesson. The big ETFs have contractually given up their fork coins, and Coinbase, which holds the keys for most of them, has said nothing. Only people who hold their own keys can really use the new coins, and anyone who moves old coins without replay protection may give away the other half without noticing. My own view is that sound money needs an exit when voice no longer works, and an exit is only real if normal people can run it at home. That is why I build software for Bitcoin Blake2b with TwentyOne.Life. I see it as insurance against capture, not as an investment, and I prefer to help build it while it is still small.

Has Bitcoin Been Captured? The Governance Crisis That Led to BLAKE2b
BIP-110 may have failed to win miner support, but its failure exposed something important about Bitcoin governance. Miners are economic actors, not guardians of protocol philosophy, and sovereignty ultimately depends on the ability of users to run their own software, reject rules they do not accept, and continue building when consensus breaks down. The emergence of the BLAKE2b hard fork turns that principle into a live experiment: when the existing mining infrastructure does not follow, a community can change proof of work, rebuild the mining ecosystem, and let the market decide whether the new chain deserves to survive. What I support is not a claim that BLAKE2b is automatically “the real Bitcoin.” I support the right to experiment, fork, verify independently, run nodes, mine with compatible hardware, and build alternative infrastructure without asking permission. Bitcoin sovereignty is not about guaranteeing that your preferred rules will win. It is about preserving the ability to say no, choose different rules, and prove through real economic participation whether an alternative can stand on its own.

How To Steal Bitcoin: The Landauer Attack
Bitcoin's base layer was designed as a minimal, thermodynamically efficient ledger for value transfer. Over the past decade, a sequence of protocol changes and narrative shifts has progressively loaded the chain with non-payment data and institutional dependency. This report applies Landauer's principle, the thermodynamic cost of information, to Bitcoin's governance history, identifying a pattern of incremental complexity addition that threatens the protocol's core function as censorship-resistant money. The pattern is not hypothetical. It is documented in protocol commit histories, DOJ-released Epstein files, ETF prospectus language, and the public statements of the actors involved. The August 2026 BIP-110 activation window represents the first organized attempt to reverse this trajectory, and the institutional response to it reveals which actors benefit from the accumulated complexity.
