Graph-Based Humanity

The architecture of digital influence is undergoing a fundamental transformation as decentralized protocols like Nostr move beyond the limitations of centralized moderation. Traditionally, the defense against Sybil attacks—where a single actor creates numerous fake identities to manipulate consensus or social perception—has relied on top-down verification. These methods, often referred to as proof of humanity, require users to surrender biometric data or government identification to a central gatekeeper. However, the emergence of anti-Sybil topologies within decentralized networks suggests that resistance to automation and manipulation can be an organic byproduct of the networks own structural evolution rather than a service granted by an authority.
