Boltz Exchange Becoming The Leading Bridge Across Bitcoin Layers via “Holy Grail” Technology

Bitcoin Magazine Boltz Exchange Becoming The Leading Bridge Across Bitcoin Layers via “Holy Grail” Technology Boltz, the bitcoin-only instant swap exchange, is cornering a niche sector of the bitcoin industry and quickly becoming a favorite of advanced bitcoin users. Its fully open source tech stack, which is actually trust-less, unlocks a variety of possibilities for the industry, including a zero-custody risk bridge across Bitcoin layers. Boltz exchange was founded in 2019 by Kilian and another pseudonymous co-founder, as a solution to managing liquidity in the Lightning Network for an early Bitcoin Defi project called OpenDex. Realizing quickly how complex lightning liquidity management was, the team ended up pivoting to the maintenance and polishing of Boltz, a liquidity service provider or LSP. Boltz has been self-funded ever since. Boltz infrastructure supports multiple Bitcoin wallets today, such as BTCPay server via a plugin, Aqua wallet, Bull Bitcoin, and Breez, to name a few that are publicly known. As a result, Boltz is becoming an increasingly popular and respected company and open source project, an infrastructure cornerstone of Bitcoin’s Lightning Network today. The Boltz Lightning node is one of the biggest, boasting on its website 759 Channels, 1022 Peers, 84.625 BTC worth of capacity, and 6.60 years since the oldest operating channel was opened, though these metrics are likely out of date. Their Lightning Network support lets advanced lightning node operators ‘balance their channels’ an otherwise complicated process that generally gets obfuscated away from end users of lighting powered Bitcoin wallets. Boltz, however, is more than just an LSP; “We want to be the connecting tissue between all the Bitcoin layers.” Kilian told Bitcoin Magazine in an exclusive interview, discussing the vision and progress of the Boltz exchange so far. Initially built to support Bitcoin on-chain to Lightning Network swaps, today it supports Rootstock and the Liquid Network as well, the most popular ways of using bitcoin by far. To date, Botlz has only dealt in BTC, instead of integrating other blockchains or assets, perfecting its craft and locking in its niche. In 2023, Boltz added support for the powerful and feature-rich Liquid Network, an open-source federated blockchain where federation members hold keys in a large Bitcoin multisig that collateralizes their L-BTC asset in full reserve. Liquid is one of the oldest two Bitcoin projects and was created by Adam Back and Blockstream. Despite having faster block times, a powerful set of programming scripts for smart contracts, and excellent privacy features such as encrypted transaction amounts on chain, Liquid has struggled to get adopted by centralized exchanges, making access to its feature set very difficult. Boltz integration opened a major bridge between on-chain bitcoin and the speed, programmability, and privacy of the Liquid Network, making wallets like Aqua and Bull Bitcoin possible. Shy to share internal numbers, Killian told Bitcoin Magazine the integration “was quite the success story — it was taken on pretty well by the market, it just made sense for people.” Looking back on the market at the time, on-chain bitcoin fees were very high and were causing problems across the industry. Kilian noted, “We had a high fee environment. The main chain was hyper-expensive. So Liquid swaps clicked for a lot of people, and that’s how we really moved into this niche of connecting Bitcoin layers. A Bitcoin bridge for different Bitcoin layers, that’s really how this direction for us was fortified.” In November of 2024, Boltz expanded into Rootstock support, a 2015 era layer two, little known among the English-speaking crowd, though very popular in Latin America, particularly Argentina, where many of its founders are from. Still shy to share internal numbers, Killian told Bitcoin Magazine that the integration with Rootstock has ‘gone well’, likely serving as one of the best ways to turn on-chain bitcoin into rBTC, an essential asset of the Rootstock ecosystem. Rootstock’s claim to fame is bringing to Bitcoin the integration of an Ethereum-compatible “EVM”, the smart contracting language on top of which most of DeFi is built across the crypto ecosystem today. The most interesting feature of Boltz, however, is its use of Atomic Swaps, an ancient “Holy Grail” of Bitcoin theory that can be traced back to the earliest discussions in the Bitcoin Talk forum. Atomic Swaps make it possible for users to trade against Boltz without having to trust the Boltz team or company not to steal the money, a luxury in finance across history. All centralized exchanges require such trust, as do most instant swap exchanges in the market today. Boltz integration with this sophisticated type of smart contract means that anyone can fundamentally run a local instance of Boltz and be a reliable trade partner of the public, without the need to bootstrap a brand or a reputation. But how do Atomic Swaps work? Leveraging the public nature of blockchains, Atomic Swaps function around a shared secret. This secret is used to lock the funds during the trade between two parties. For one party to claim the funds of the other, they must publish this secret to the blockchain, allowing the counterparty to do the same, resulting in the ‘atomic’ execution of the trade. This protocol solves a key issue of trust in business. Who sends the money first? Who sends the goods first? Whoever does, takes a certain amount of risk as it allows the counterparty to take the goods and run. Atomic Swaps eliminate that risk entirely. They essentially allow for the creation of a non-custodial crypto exchange. Though the implementation details and user experience vary, as some blockchains do not have the right script or smart contracting tools to support Atomic Swaps, while fiat is — so far — ruled out entirely as bank transfers are almost always reversible, undoing atomicity. Looking out into the future of Boltz and the programmability of Bitcoin as money for the digital age, Kilian said, “I think we will see a new breed of layer two projects launching early next year. So, probably stuff that you and I have never heard about, but there are so many projects, so much stuff. So this is a really interesting space to be in. And the difficulty, the quest, will be to separate the good from the bad.” This post Boltz Exchange Becoming The Leading Bridge Across Bitcoin Layers via “Holy Grail” Technology first appeared on Bitcoin Magazine and is written by Juan Galt.

Bitcoin Price Slump Could Spark Next Bull Run

Bitcoin Magazine Bitcoin Price Slump Could Spark Next Bull Run Recent bitcoin price action has left many investors frustrated. Despite setting new all-time highs above $120,000 earlier this year, the bitcoin price has struggled to keep pace with equities and Gold in recent months. The S&P 500 and precious metals have surged to new records, while Bitcoin has remained range-bound, giving the impression that it’s lagging behind. But when analyzing the market through a lens of capital rotation, this period of underperformance may not last much longer. Relative Gains in the Bitcoin Price While Bitcoin has appeared weak in dollar terms, it remains one of the strongest performers over the past year. BTC has still outperformed both Gold’s 46% and the S&P 500, yet even with that outperformance, the structure of the market makes it feel as though Bitcoin is still under-delivering. Measuring Bitcoin against other assets like equities and Gold rather than the dollar, which is itself depreciating, gives a more accurate view of its purchasing power and real market standing. When charted against the S&P 500, Bitcoin’s performance shows an interesting divergence. The BTC to S&P ratio reveals that while Bitcoin set new USD highs in 2024, its relative value against equities is only just above the previous cycle’s peak. In other words, Bitcoin’s additional purchasing power has barely expanded. If Bitcoin were to reclaim the previous S&P 500 ratio high of ~19.6, it would equate to a bitcoin price of roughly $135,000, given current equity levels. Bitcoin Price vs Gold The Bitcoin to Gold ratio tells a similar story. Despite reaching new highs in dollar terms, BTC actually remains well below its previous cycle’s all-time high when priced in Gold. A full recovery to that ratio would place the bitcoin price near $150,000, and reclaiming the brief 2024 high would push it closer to $160,000. These comparisons help explain why sentiment feels more muted despite record prices. Measured against real-world stores of value, Bitcoin’s performance still trails prior peaks. However, an interesting dynamic has repeated across multiple cycles. Each time Gold has experienced a sharp rally, Bitcoin has followed with a major bull phase shortly after. The pattern appeared in 2012, 2016, and again in 2020 — Gold rallied first, then Bitcoin followed with exponential gains. These Gold spikes seem to mark the early stages of capital rotation, as liquidity moves from defensive safe havens into more speculative, higher-beta assets like BTC. Capital Rotation and the Bitcoin Price That rotation may already be underway again. Gold recently set new highs before losing momentum, while equities have begun to strengthen. Historically, when Gold begins to underperform the S&P 500 after a major rally, it has signaled the start of risk-on conditions in broader markets — the kind that favor Bitcoin. The same capital rotation that occurs within crypto markets, from stablecoins into Bitcoin, then into large-cap and smaller speculative altcoins, may also occur in traditional markets. Liquidity often flows from fiat and bonds into Gold and then equities, before eventually into risk assets like Bitcoin as investor confidence rises. Conclusion: The Bitcoin Price May Soon Lead Again Bitcoin remains tightly correlated with the S&P 500, meaning sustained equity strength is one of the most reliable precursors to bitcoin price outperformance. With Gold potentially topping and equities gaining traction, the next few months could mark the beginning of a new phase of risk appetite. While Bitcoin has felt stagnant and underwhelming in recent weeks, the broader context suggests otherwise. Capital is in motion. The same rotation that has defined every past cycle appears to be setting up once again — and the bitcoin price may soon move from laggard to leader. Bitcoin Price Slumps to $102,000 as Fed Policy, Investor Sentiment Pressure Markets

Bitcoin Magazine Bitcoin Price Slumps to $102,000 as Fed Policy, Investor Sentiment Pressure Markets Bitcoin Price extended its losses today, sliding more than 2.5% to around $102,852 as renewed U.S. dollar strength and investor outflows from crypto ETFs weighed heavily on the market. The bitcoin price drop comes after Bitcoin’s worst October performance in nearly a decade, further denting sentiment among traders already reeling from a historic liquidation event last month. Bitcoin briefly traded below $103,567, its lowest level in over two weeks, breaking below the critical 200-day moving average — a key gauge of long-term market momentum, according to Bitcoin Magazine Pro data. Since then, Bitcoin has rebounded to above $104,000 at time of writing. According to market analyst Damian Chmiel, a sustained break below $100,000 could trigger a sharper sell-off toward the April lows near $74,000, implying a potential 30% downside from current levels. According to updated Polymarket data, there’s now an 80% chance of the Bitcoin price falling below $100,000 before 2026 JUST IN: There's now a 78% chance of #Bitcoin falling below $100,000 before 2026, according to Polymarket HODL! pic.twitter.com/PL99SaYIZo — Bitcoin Magazine (@BitcoinMagazine) November 4, 2025 Fed policy shift and macro headwinds The broader macro backdrop remains unfavorable for risk assets. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s comments last week walked back expectations of a December rate cut, reinforcing the “higher for longer” interest rate narrative. That shift has boosted the U.S. dollar while simultaneously pressuring non-yielding assets such as Bitcoin. Adding to the selling pressure, ETF investors have withdrawn more than $1.8 billion from Bitcoin and Ether products over the past four trading days, data shows, while open interest in BTC perpetual futures has fallen about 30% from its October peak, signaling a pullback in leveraged exposure. Bitcoin price technical breakdown Bitcoin’s $106,900 support level — aligned with the 0.146 Fibonacci retracement — was repeatedly tested last week but ultimately failed to inspire follow-through buying. Analysts now view $104,000 as the next line of defense, though this level has already been tested twice and is increasingly fragile. If $104,000 breaks decisively, traders are eyeing $96,000 as the next significant support zone. On the upside, bulls must reclaim the 21-day EMA and Point of Control around $111,000 to reestablish momentum, followed by resistance at $114,600 and $122,000, per Bitcoin Magazine Pro. Bearish bias persists The overall market mood remains bearish as traders continue to deleverage and avoid aggressive long positions. “The crypto market is facing multiple near-term headwinds,” said Derek Lim, head of research at Caladan, according to Bloomberg. “It’s already fragile from October’s massive liquidation event and a string of protocol exploits.” With Bitcoin’s technicals under pressure and macro catalysts lacking, traders are looking ahead to the November 13 Consumer Price Index report for a potential shift in sentiment. Cooler inflation data could reopen the door for Fed easing — a development bulls desperately need to reverse the trend. For now, however, Bitcoin remains on the defensive, with sellers firmly in control and a close below $100,000 threatening to accelerate the slide. Bitcoin Price Crashes to $106,000 As Bulls Eye Strong November

Bitcoin Magazine Bitcoin Price Crashes to $106,000 As Bulls Eye Strong November Bitcoin price has extended its losses, dipping to lows of $105,200 today, following a volatile start to November and ending a remarkable seven-year “Uptober” streak. After closing October with a 4% decline — the first negative October since 2018 — Bitcoin price faces increased selling pressure amid tighter financial conditions, cautious institutional flows, and macroeconomic headwinds. The recent correction follows an early-October flash crash that dragged Bitcoin down to $104,000, wiping out much of its Q3 momentum. Despite a partial recovery, BTC remains roughly 14% below its recent peak near $125,000. At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is at $106,234. Bitcoin price analysis Technical charts reveal that Bitcoin recently tested three support lows before sweeping liquidity beneath them. On the daily timeframe, BTC held a key low within a demand area, which historically has been a strong support level. This zone previously trapped impatient sellers before a bounce, suggesting that BTC may once again find short-term support here. Zooming into the 15-minute chart, a clean demand zone is forming where Bitcoin could react before making its next directional move, potentially targeting liquidity above current highs. Traders familiar with such setups note that markets often prepare for moves that leave panicking participants behind. JUST IN: #Bitcoin dips to $105,545 HODL! pic.twitter.com/WVYBnd4EL2 — Bitcoin Magazine (@BitcoinMagazine) November 3, 2025 On-chain data offers further insight into Bitcoin’s current position. The Short-Term Holder (STH) Realized Price, which represents the average cost basis for recent buyers, sits around $113,000. Historically, this level has acted as a dynamic support zone, providing a foundation for accumulation and future upward moves. Holding above this line signals that short-term participants are at breakeven or slight profit, bolstering market confidence. The STH Market Value to Realized Value (MVRV) Ratio also highlights potential upside. Multiplying the current STH Realized Price by historical MVRV thresholds projects resistance levels between $160,000 and $200,000, aligning with past cycle patterns. Long-Term Holder (LTH) MVRV metrics reinforce this outlook, suggesting diminishing returns but potential peaks around $163,000–$165,000. Rolling MVRV frameworks, including two-year and 100-day analyses, indicate that BTC is still in an accumulation-friendly range, capturing optimal points for entering the market ahead of the next bullish phase. Bitcoin at $200,000 soon? Earlier today, Fundstrat’s Tom Lee remained bullish on Bitcoin, predicting it could still surge to $150,000–$200,000 by the end of 2025 despite recent market turbulence. He noted that the mid-October liquidation event — the largest in crypto history, even bigger than FTX — occurred just weeks ago. Earlier today, Strategy announced they reinforced its aggressive Bitcoin accumulation approach, purchasing 397 BTC for about $45.6 million at an average price of $114,771 per BTC. According to a November 3, 2025 SEC Form 8-K filing, Strategy now holds a total of 641,205 BTC, with an aggregate purchase cost of $47.49 billion and an average price of $74,057 per BTC, including fees and expenses. Trump’s Crypto Czar David Sacks Calls Crypto the “Industry of the Future”

Bitcoin Magazine Trump’s Crypto Czar David Sacks Calls Crypto the “Industry of the Future” President Trump’s Crypto and AI Czar, David Sacks, is making a bold case for America to reclaim leadership in digital innovation — calling crypto “the industry of the future.” Speaking alongside a16z co-founders Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz, as well as entrepreneur Erik Torenberg, Sacks emphasized that the U.S. needs clear regulatory standards to keep crypto innovation onshore. He criticized the Biden administration’s “regulation by enforcement” approach, arguing that under SEC Chair Gary Gensler, crypto entrepreneurs were prosecuted instead of given clear rules to follow. “All the entrepreneurs I’ve talked to over the years say the same thing — just tell us what the rules are,” Sacks said. “During the Biden years, you had an SEC chairman who took an approach, which I guess has been called regulation through enforcement, which basically means you just get prosecuted. ” JUST IN: President Trump's Crypto Czar says that crypto is the "industry of the future." pic.twitter.com/flFkgxSwsC — Bitcoin Magazine (@BitcoinMagazine) November 3, 2025 United States as the crypto capital of the planet Sacks said President Trump’s campaign pledge to make the U.S. “the crypto capital of the planet” and to fire Gensler resonated strongly with voters. “He’s talked about how surprised he was at the big ovation he got at that,” Sacks noted, underscoring the growing political weight of crypto policy. Under the Trump administration, Sacks said the goal will be to establish regulatory clarity that protects consumers while fostering innovation and competitiveness. “Providing certainty means entrepreneurs can build here in America,” he added. Last night on 60 Minutes, President Trump reinforced his support for crypto in the United States, saying “I only care about one thing: will we be number one in crypto.” The discussion also touched on AI competition with China, the need for a federal crypto framework, and the role of abundant energy in powering future technologies. Sacks positioned both crypto and AI as twin pillars of America’s technological leadership — sectors that, in his view, will define the next decade of global economic growth. Last December, President Trump appointed David Sacks as the White House AI and Crypto Czar to shape policy in both sectors. In his part-time role, Sacks was tasked to promote a pro-innovation, deregulatory approach to AI and develop a clear legal framework for the cryptocurrency industry. Sacks was instrumental in crafting the U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. He pushed and clarified that the new federal Bitcoin reserve to be funded using BTC already owned by the U.S. government through asset forfeitures — meaning no taxpayer cost. Sacks said the government will hold, not sell, these assets, describing the reserve as a “digital Fort Knox.” He added that the policy aims to prevent past mistakes where premature Bitcoin sales cost taxpayers over $17 billion in unrealized gains. Fidelity Crypto Finally Allows Users to Send and Receive Bitcoin as UK ETP Gains Regulatory Approval

Bitcoin Magazine Fidelity Crypto Finally Allows Users to Send and Receive Bitcoin as UK ETP Gains Regulatory Approval Fidelity Crypto now allows customers to withdraw Bitcoin and other crypto to external wallets, over 2 years after launching its retail platform. This move gives users full self‑custody control while bridging traditional brokerage services and permissionless wallets. Fidelity also took a major step toward mainstream crypto adoption by making its Physical Bitcoin ETP — launched in February 2022 and now listed on multiple European exchanges—available to UK retail clients for the first time after the FCA lifted the ban on retail crypto ETPs. The firm’s Fidelity Physical Bitcoin ETP becomes the first crypto asset available to Fidelity’s advised platform clients from today, with additional products planned in the coming weeks. The move comes after the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) relaxed its stance on cryptocurrency, lifting its ban on crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs) for retail investors on 8 October. NEW: Fidelity crypto now allows customers to send #Bitcoin off the platform to their own wallets pic.twitter.com/LYm55XcxVp — Bitcoin Magazine (@BitcoinMagazine) November 3, 2025 The regulatory shift opens the door for established asset managers like Fidelity, BlackRock, and WisdomTree to offer crypto exposure to a broader audience through regulated channels. In mid October, BlackRock listed its iShares Bitcoin Exchange-Traded Product (ETP), ticker IB1T, on the London Stock Exchange. The ETP is fully physically backed, with all Bitcoin held securely through Coinbase custody. Processional-grade Bitcoin access Dennis Pellerito, head of UK wholesale at Fidelity International, highlighted the significance for retail investors: “Until now, many retail investors have been limited to less secure, unregulated channels or indirect exposures such as proxy stocks. We are pleased to offer our institutional-grade ETP to retail investors for the first time.” He emphasized that the ETP provides high-quality, professional-grade access to Bitcoin in a simple and secure format. The Fidelity Physical Bitcoin ETP, originally launched in February 2022 and listed on the Deutsche Börse Xetra, SIX Swiss Exchange, and London Stock Exchange, tracks the price movement of Bitcoin and is designed to be both cost-effective and convenient. Fidelity recently reduced the ongoing charges figure (OCF) to 0.25%, reflecting the firm’s focus on making institutional-grade products more accessible to retail clients. Fidelity International said additional crypto assets may be added over time, subject to standard due diligence and client demand, and that it continues to explore ways to broaden access to crypto for consumers. The firm still encouraged investors to conduct thorough research before entering the digital asset space, including cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or any other asset. Btrust Names Bitcoin Core Contributor Abubakar Nur Khalil as New CEO

Bitcoin Magazine Btrust Names Bitcoin Core Contributor Abubakar Nur Khalil as New CEO Bitcoin development nonprofit Btrust has named Nigerian Bitcoin Core contributor Abubakar Nur Khalil as its new chief executive officer, the organization announced today. Khalil had previously served as interim CEO while sitting on the board as a non-voting member. Khalil will step down from his board position and report directly to the organization’s directors in the full-time role. His three-year term is renewable once. Founded to support open-source Bitcoin development in the Global South, Btrust has expanded its footprint across Africa, Latin America, and India over the past year. The non-profit received initial funding from Jay-Z and Jack Dorsey. During his interim leadership, the group increased partnerships with organizations including Bitshala, Vinteum and 2140, and reported record grant distribution. Since mid-2024, Btrust says it has issued more than $1.7 million in funding, with over half going directly to developers. Khalil co-founded Btrust Builders, an initiative focused on growing the open-source developer pipeline in emerging markets. He is recognized as a prominent advocate for Bitcoin development in Africa. “I’m honored to have led Btrust as interim CEO over the past year,” Khalil said in a statement, adding that he aims to strengthen the organization’s systems and scale its impact in 2026 and beyond. “Ensuring that Bitcoin continues to be a money that works for everyone worldwide.” Board member Obi Nwosu said Khalil is well-positioned to guide Btrust through its next phase as it builds out long-term programs and developer support infrastructure. The organization said continuity will be a major focus as it transitions from early-stage growth to broader execution. Btrust’s board launched the CEO search in July, citing the need for dedicated leadership as its programming expands globally. The organization said the appointment marks “a meaningful next chapter” in its mission to strengthen decentralized Bitcoin development. IREN, Cipher Mining (CIFR) Strike Multi-Billion AI Cloud Deals with Microsoft and Amazon

Bitcoin Magazine IREN, Cipher Mining (CIFR) Strike Multi-Billion AI Cloud Deals with Microsoft and Amazon IREN Limited (NASDAQ: IREN) and Cipher Mining Inc. (NASDAQ:CIFR), Bitcoin miners pivoting to AI infrastructure providers, are making some hefty business moves today, and their stocks have been reflecting it. IREN signed a five-year, $9.7 billion agreement with Microsoft for GPU cloud computing services. The deal gives Microsoft access to NVIDIA GB300 GPUs managed by IREN at its Childress, Texas campus, with a phased deployment of GPU capacity throughout 2026. The contract includes a 20% prepayment and positions IREN as a key hyperscaler partner for the first time. Four new liquid-cooled data centers, Horizon 1 through Horizon 4, will support 200 megawatts of critical IT load, while a separate $5.8 billion agreement with Dell Technologies covers the purchase of GPUs, servers, and associated infrastructure. CEO Daniel Roberts said the partnership could generate roughly $1.94 billion in annualized revenue once fully deployed. Following the announcement, IREN shares jumped more than 28% in pre-market trading. The stock is now up 8% in intraday trading. IREN, which has seen its Nasdaq stock surge over 500% this year, joins other AI-focused “neocloud” providers, many of which originated in cryptocurrency mining. Cipher Mining’s deal with Amazon Meanwhile, Cipher Mining secured a $5.5 billion, 15-year lease agreement with Amazon Web Services (NASDAQ: AMZN) to provide turnkey space and power for AI workloads. Cipher will deliver 300 megawatts of capacity in 2026 through air- and liquid-cooled facilities in two phases, with rent starting in August 2026. Additionally, the company announced a joint venture to develop a 1-gigawatt site named “Colchis” in West Texas, in which it will hold roughly 95% equity. Combined with prior deals with Fluidstack and Google, Cipher’s AI hosting contracts now represent approximately $8.5 billion in lease payments. Cipher shares rose 15% in pre-market trading following the news. The stock is now up 14% in intraday trading. Bitcoin mining success with an AI twist Bitcoin mining and crypto infrastructure stocks have seen a big rally over the past six months, and IREN Limited is a standout example. Investors have rewarded companies that can combine traditional bitcoin mining with scalable, revenue-generating AI or data-center services. In IREN’s case, the stock’s recent surge comes after a major GPU expansion and analyst upgrades, and now this new Microsoft news is helping boost the price. This reflects a wider market appetite for miners that offer optionality: steady bitcoin cash flows to fund new ventures, while also positioning for high-growth technology trends. In essence, the past half-year has favored bitcoin-mining firms that can monetize excess power, land, and data-center capacity beyond mining. The rally is less about bitcoin prices alone and more about miners evolving into hybrid tech infrastructure operators with diversified revenue streams. Bitcoin Support Under Attack as Bears Look to Push Price Below $100,000

Bitcoin Support Under Attack as Bears Look to Push Price Below $100,000

Bitcoin Magazine Bitcoin Support Under Attack as Bears Look to Push Price Below $100,000 It was a very disappointing week for bitcoin price action last week. Monday saw a nice move up into resistance, but that momentum quickly faded as bitcoin retraced the bullish move to end up right back down at the lows by Thursday. The market was a mixed bag as the Federal Reserve’s 25 basis point cut was expected, but Chairman Powell put a damper on expectations going forward, stating that there were no plans to continue with another interest rate cut in December’s FOMC meeting, which the market had been expecting. Bitcoin closed the week out at $110,591, which wasn’t entirely bearish, but was not confidence-inspiring for the bulls either. Key Support and Resistance Levels Now The $106,900 support level held again last week at the 0.146 Fibonacci Retracement, providing a nice bounce for the bulls on Thursday into the weekly close on Sunday. Bulls do not want this level to be tested again going forward, as it would be more likely to fail on the next test. Losing this level is very likely to lead to losing $100,000 and a test of long-term support at $96,000. We do have potential support at $104,000 before there, but this level has been tested twice already, so it would be a big ask for this level to hold as support once again. The bearish price action last week has only created additional resistance levels for the bulls to overcome here. Price closed last week below the 21-EMA, which sits right around $111,000 entering this week. The volume profile is also showing us a point of control (POC) at $111,000 as well. If price manages to climb above $111,000, we will look to $114,600 as the next resistance level. Closing above $114,600 opens up $122,000 as the final hurdle to overcome for the bulls to take back control of the action. Outlook For This Week Bitcoin is likely to break support to the downside this week unless buyers can step up in a big way, with strong buying volume. Look for $106,900 support to be lost if the price starts closing below $108,000. $104,000 should provide a bounce below there, but the $96,000 support is likely to be tested if $104,000 doesn’t hold for long. Bulls will likely need some sort of macro catalyst this week to save themselves from lower prices, as the daily chart is looking very bearish heading into this week. As of Monday morning, it appears bitcoin is losing the $106,900 level and will test $104,000 or lower. Market mood: Bearish – The bulls’ hopes were beaten back this week when the price failed to hold above the $115,500 resistance level. The onus is still on the bulls to take out some upper resistance levels to try to swing bias back in their favor. The next few weeks Bitcoin is likely to take a backseat to the Nasdaq price action going forward. It will be very difficult to sustain any kind of upward movement if the Nasdaq continues to correct lower over the coming weeks. So, bitcoin bulls will be hoping for the Nasdaq to resume its uptrend to help them out. Bulls will also be looking out for the Consumer Price Index, due to be released on November 13, for an improvement from last month’s lukewarm inflation numbers. Cooler inflation data should tilt the odds in favor of another interest rate cut in the Federal Reserve’s December meeting. Unless the bulls get a lot of help here, the bears should remain in control for the foreseeable future. Terminology Guide: Bulls/Bullish: Buyers or investors expecting the price to go higher. Bears/Bearish: Sellers or investors expecting the price to go lower. Support or support level: A level at which the price should hold for the asset, at least initially. The more touches on support, the weaker it gets and the more likely it is to fail to hold the price. Resistance or resistance level: Opposite of support. The level that is likely to reject the price, at least initially. The more touches at resistance, the weaker it gets and the more likely it is to fail to hold back the price. EMA: Exponential Moving Average. A moving average that applies more weight to recent prices than earlier prices, reducing the lag of the moving average. Fibonacci Retracements and Extensions: Ratios based on what is known as the golden ratio, a universal ratio pertaining to growth and decay cycles in nature. The golden ratio is based on the constants Phi (1.618) and phi (0.618). Volume Profile: An indicator that displays the total volume of buys and sells at specific price levels. The point of control (or POC) is a horizontal line on this indicator that shows us the price level at which the highest volume of transactions occurred. Lava Raises $200M for Bitcoin-Backed Line of Credit, Announces New Borrow Rates Starting at 5%

Bitcoin Magazine Lava Raises $200M for Bitcoin-Backed Line of Credit, Announces New Borrow Rates Starting at 5% Lava, a global platform for bitcoin-backed loans, today announced a $200M funding round and the launch of a new product, a bitcoin line of credit (BLOC). The product offers similar functionality to a securities-backed loan or home equity line of credit, but allows users the ability to flexibly borrow using bitcoin as collateral without the monthly payments or term limits common in the bitcoin-backed loans market today. According to a press release shared with Bitcoin Magazine, the $200M financing “includes a combination of venture and debt capital” and brings two new high-profile angels on board: Anthony Pompliano, Bitcoin investor and entrepreneur, and Eric Jackson, activist public markets investor and founder of EMJ Capital. “I’m thrilled to be joining Lava as an investor,” says Jackson. “Shehzan and his team are world-class, and they’ve been incredibly innovative on the product side. Not only is their revolving line of credit a first in the industry, but they’ve also managed to secure the lowest borrowing rates for their users— beating the rates of much older incumbents in the space. This is hands-down the best product in the market, and Lava is setting a new standard for bitcoin-backed loans.” As a result of the new fundraising, Lava now offers what may be the lowest fixed interest rates available in the bitcoin lending market, “starting at just 5%” for year-long durations. “The interest rate will update yearly, and you can simply leave your line of credit open to refinance at the new rate.” According to their announcement blog. Lava’s line of credit functions more like a revolving account: users can borrow, repay, and borrow again at any time, with the interest rates only being marked for the amounts borrowed, not the total capacity of the loan. “We believe that this is the best possible borrowing experience for bitcoin holders. You can get dollars instantly, you don’t have to worry about monthly payments or loan durations, and you get access to the lowest fixed interest rates,” said CEO Shehzan Maredia, adding, “This has been their most requested product and will be Lava’s core focus moving forward.” Beyond the 5% fixed interest rate, the line of credit carries “a capital charge equal to 2% of the largest outstanding balance you have on your line of credit during the year,” as explained in their FAQ. For example, if the user’s loan balance reaches $5,000 at some point throughout the borrowing period, the capital charge for the entire year is $100. Bringing the total cost of a bitcoin-backed loan to roughly 7% yearly, a rate that remains very competitive within the bitcoin-backed loans market, as many companies also have similar fees on top of the interest rate. Loans can be up to 50% of the total USD value of the bitcoin balance of the Lava app, a powerful and modern closed-source self-custody wallet. Most of the loan products and USD payment rails can be accessed without personal information, making Lava stand out among its competitors, placing it somewhere between pure DeFi and more modern crypto-savvy financial institutions. Lava also has a “Liquidation protection” feature, which can draw from the bitcoin balance deposited into the app and add it to the collateral account to protect users from liquidation in the case of extreme price volatility in bitcoin. Trump Doubles Down on Crypto Leadership, Defends CZ Pardon on 60 Minutes

Bitcoin Magazine Trump Doubles Down on Crypto Leadership, Defends CZ Pardon on 60 Minutes President Donald Trump made headlines Sunday in a wide-ranging interview on 60 Minutes, emphasizing that maintaining U.S. dominance in the crypto space is a top priority for him. “I only care about one thing: will we be number one in crypto,” Trump told Norah O’Donnell, highlighting what he described as the importance of the sector due to global competition. President Trump framed crypto as a high-stakes, winner-takes-all industry, likening it to artificial intelligence in terms of national importance. “In crypto, it’s a kind of industry where basically you’re going to have number one and you’re not going to have a number two. And right now we’re number one by a long shot,” he said. President Trump also pointed to China’s booming crypto initiatives, noting, “China is getting into it very big,” and insisted that U.S. leadership is crucial to prevent other nations from dominating the market. The President credited his sons with being more engaged in the industry than he is, while highlighting that their business pursuits demonstrate the sector’s growth and potential. Trump also suggested that his previous campaigns, which openly supported crypto, helped secure what he called the “crypto vote,” framing his advocacy as a continuation of his broader efforts to bolster American technological leadership. BREAKING: President Trump says, “I only care about one thing: will we be number one in crypto” “China is getting into it very big” pic.twitter.com/LuMHAQLlnf — Bitcoin Magazine (@BitcoinMagazine) November 3, 2025 Trump’s pardon of CZ The whole conversation around crypto also touched on Trump’s semi-controversial pardon of Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, known as CZ. U.S. prosecutors accused Binance of allowing illicit transactions with sanctioned entities and failing to implement proper anti-money-laundering controls. CZ pleaded guilty, stepped down as CEO, and paid a personal fine of $50 million. On October 23, President Donald Trump granted a full pardon to Zhao following months of lobbying by Zhao and allies, who argued his prosecution was politically motivated, and comes amid his efforts to explore partnerships with Trump family crypto ventures. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt framed the move as ending the “Biden Administration’s war on crypto.” The decision cleared Zhao’s record and could reshape U.S. policy toward cryptocurrency. Trump defended the pardon in his 60 Minutes interview, framing it as a corrective action against what he described as political bias from the Biden administration. “I know nothing about the guy, other than I hear he was a victim of weaponization by government… It’s a corrupt government,” Trump said, emphasizing that his decision was guided by his belief in protecting U.S. crypto leadership rather than personal connections or political gain. This Bitcoin Price Cycle Data Reveals Next Major Bull Run

Bitcoin Magazine This Bitcoin Price Cycle Data Reveals Next Major Bull Run The bitcoin price is at a very interesting point in its current market cycle. With lots of different opinions and not much movement in price, it’s hard to know what’s coming next. But when we look at the important data, things get a lot clearer. These signals don’t just tell us what might happen in the immediate future, but can clarify what the coming weeks and months could bring. Table of Contents The Short-Term Holder Realized Price and Bitcoin Price Support Understanding The MVRV Ratio and Bitcoin Price Valuation Long-Term Holder MVRV and Bitcoin Price Peaks The Rolling MVRV Framework and Bitcoin Price Dynamics Conclusion The Short-Term Holder Realized Price and Bitcoin Price Support We begin with the Short-Term Holder Realized Price, effectively the average cost basis for new market participants. This level has historically acted as a dynamic zone of support and resistance throughout each cycle. At present, the STH realized price sits around $113,000, close to where Bitcoin is currently trading. Despite the sharp liquidation event earlier this month, the market has rebounded and stabilized around this level. Figure 1: Short-Term Holder Realized Price signals structural support for market confidence. View Live Chart When Bitcoin holds above the short-term holder realized price, it signals that the average recent buyer is either at breakeven or in slight profit. This often increases investor confidence and encourages additional capital rotation into the market. In past cycles, such as in 2017, every retest of this line provided an ideal accumulation opportunity before the next leg higher. Maintaining support above this could once again mark the foundation for the next phase of the bull cycle. Understanding The MVRV Ratio and Bitcoin Price Valuation Beyond the realized price itself, we turn to the Short-Term Holder Market Value to Realized Value (MVRV) Ratio, which measures the relationship between Bitcoin’s current market price and its aggregate realized price. This ratio helps identify over- or undervalued conditions. Across prior cycles, clear patterns emerge, with Bitcoin consistently finding support around the 0.66 level during large down moves, prime zones for accumulation. On the upside, notable resistance has historically appeared around 1.33, 1.43, and 1.64, corresponding to profit-taking points where new participants reach 33%, 43%, or 64% unrealized gains, respectively. Figure 2: Historical Short-Term Holder MVRV data reveals key topping points. View Live Chart Using these multiples, we can estimate future targets. By multiplying the current STH Realized Price at ~$113,000 by these MVRV thresholds, we can project potential resistance zones for this cycle. The 1.33 zone generates a projected price of approximately $160,000 for the end of the year. The midway 1.43 zone equates to a projection of ~$170,000, and the upper zone of 1.64 extrapolates to around $200,00. These levels align remarkably well with historical resistance zones, suggesting the $160k–$200k range could act as a major price ceiling if Bitcoin continues to hold above its realized base. Figure 3: Using MVRV ratio band targets to project resistance and profit zones to the end of 2025. Long-Term Holder MVRV and Bitcoin Price Peaks Next, we turn to the Long-Term Holder MVRV Ratio, which measures unrealized profit and loss among the market’s most experienced investors. This cohort’s behavior provides key insights into macrocycle dynamics. In the 2017 bull run, LTH MVRV peaked at 36.2. In the 2021 cycle, it peaked at 12.58, roughly a 2.9x reduction, demonstrating the diminishing return structure that has defined Bitcoin’s maturation. Figure 4: The Long-Term Holder MVRV Ratio tracking the diminishing returns model. View Live Chart Applying that same diminishing factor (÷2.88) suggests a potential peak around 4.37 for this current cycle. Given that the Long-Term Holder Realized Price sits near $37,400, a 4.37x multiple implies a potential target of roughly $163,000–$165,000, overlapping with the upper targets derived from short-term holder data and levels we’ve already reached this cycle in LTH MVRV terms. The Rolling MVRV Framework and Bitcoin Price Dynamics As the Bitcoin market evolves, traditional MVRV metrics must also adapt. One of the most effective approaches is to view these ratios on a rolling basis, which accounts for dynamic changes in market conditions. When modeled on a 2-Year Rolling basis, the MVRV Z-Score eliminates some of the “diminishing peaks” seen in static models. Peaks around 3.0 and troughs near –1.0 have consistently aligned with market tops and bottoms. Intriguingly, current readings are closer to the buy zone than the sell zone, implying that Bitcoin is still in an accumulation-friendly range. Figure 5: The MVRV Z-Score 2-Year Rolling metric smooths cyclical extremes and improves accuracy. View Live Chart To gain more granularity, we can also assess the MVRV ratio on a 100-day rolling basis, which captures intra-cycle fluctuations. In this model, spikes above +2 correlate with local tops, while dips below –2 align with local bottoms and optimal DCA zones. Across Bitcoin’s entire history, this rolling 100-day MVRV framework has identified some of the most accurate short-term accumulation and distribution points, even within broader cycle trends. Figure 6: The rolling 100-day MVRV ratio has historically captured intra-cycle highs and lows. Conclusion Even as Bitcoin’s market matures and institutional involvement deepens, these core on-chain valuation frameworks remain among the most powerful tools for cycle analysis. The realized price models, particularly those tied to specific cohorts, provide insight into market conviction, showing when participants are in profit and when behavioral shifts are likely to trigger the next move. More importantly, adapting traditional metrics to rolling frameworks ensures our models evolve alongside Bitcoin itself, capturing new investor behavior, liquidity cycles, and the growing institutional influence that defines this market’s future. If Bitcoin can continue holding above the STH realized price, the data suggests there is ample room to the upside, with plausible cycle targets in the $160,000–$200,000 region. Tom Lee Says Bitcoin Can Still Reach $150K–$200K by Year’s End, Despite October’s “Mini Tsunami”

Bitcoin Magazine Tom Lee Says Bitcoin Can Still Reach $150K–$200K by Year’s End, Despite October’s “Mini Tsunami” Fundstrat’s Tom Lee remains confident that Bitcoin could still finish 2025 with a massive rally — despite the turbulence that has rocked crypto markets since mid-October. Speaking on CNBC, the Fundstrat Global Advisors head of research said he believes Bitcoin can reach between $150,000 and $200,000 by the end of the year, even after what he described as one of the largest liquidation events in crypto history. “If I look at everything since October 10th — because that was the biggest liquidation in the history of crypto, bigger than FTX, a margin call tsunami — we’re only a couple weeks from that,” Lee said. For context, on October 10, President Trump announced sweeping 100% tariffs on Chinese goods and new export controls in response to China’s aggressive rare-earth restrictions. His remarks triggered a sharp sell-off across global markets and crypto assets. Bitcoin plunged from around $117,000 to below $108,000 before rebounding to the $113,000 range amid extreme volatility. Since then, Bitcoin and the broader crypto market has bled to lows of $104,000 before settling at $107,000 currently. “I think the market is consolidating. But if I look at fundamentals, like Ethereum and stablecoin volumes exploding and application revenues at all-time highs, right now fundamentals are leading the price in crypto,” Lee said. Lee said the recent weakness may just be a pause before another rally, with solid fundamentals quietly setting up a year-end surge. “Eventually we consolidate and then we rally into year end — $150,000 to $200,000 for Bitcoin, and something like $7,000 for Ethereum,” he added. JUST IN: Fundstrat’s Tom Lee says #Bitcoin can still reach $150k—$200k by year's end. pic.twitter.com/zoYKy3NUWL — Bitcoin Magazine (@BitcoinMagazine) November 3, 2025 A broad bullish outlook outside of Bitcoin Lee’s optimism isn’t limited to Bitcoin. In the same interview, he argued that U.S. equities remain in a strong position despite ongoing worries about China, the Federal Reserve, and a potential government shutdown. “The market’s been up six months in a row now. Only six times since 1928 that’s happened,” Lee noted. “So if you look at November, it should be really strong. I think at least 200 points on the S&P — maybe even 250.” He pointed to negative investor sentiment and underperforming fund managers as contrarian indicators for further upside. According to Lee, more than 80% of fund managers are lagging their benchmarks this year — creating potential for a “performance chase” as the year closes. “Investors feel like it’s a bear market, but we’re up 17%. That kind of tells me there’s a big performance chase into the year-end,” he said. “Strong years end strong” Asked if he could still see Bitcoin surging above $150,000 given the recent weakness, Lee didn’t hesitate. “Yeah, I think we can still get to $150,000–$200,000 for Bitcoin,” he said confidently, adding that Ethereum could follow toward $7,000. For Lee, the setup into year-end mirrors what he’s seeing across broader risk assets: a market that’s been climbing a “wall of worry,” ready for another breakout once consolidation ends. “Strong years end strong,” he reminded viewers. Bitcoin Price Dipped Below $109,000 As Strategy Buys 397 More Bitcoin

Bitcoin Magazine Bitcoin Price Dipped Below $109,000 As Strategy Buys 397 More Bitcoin Strategy continues its aggressive Bitcoin accumulation strategy, announcing the purchase of 397 BTC for approximately $45.6 million at an average price of $114,771 per Bitcoin. The announcement comes as Bitcoin’s price has been volatile, briefly dipping below $108,000 before stabilising around $111,000. According to a Form 8-K filing submitted to the SEC on November 3, 2025, Strategy’s total Bitcoin holdings have now reached 641,205 BTC, with an aggregate purchase price of $47.49 billion. The company’s average purchase price stands at $74,057 per Bitcoin, inclusive of fees and expenses. The latest acquisition was funded through multiple At-The-Market (ATM) offering programs. From October 27 to November 2, Strategy raised $8.4 million through STRF ATM with 76,017 shares, $4.4 million via STRK ATM with 49,374 shares, $2.3 million from STRD ATM with 29,065 shares, and $54.4 million through MSTR ATM with 183,501 shares. The combined net proceeds of $69.5 million demonstrate Strategy’s continued ability to raise capital for its Bitcoin treasury operations. BREAKING: STRATEGY BUYS ANOTHER 397 #BITCOIN FOR $45.6 MILLION pic.twitter.com/I6Pk1qnDDa — Bitcoin Magazine (@BitcoinMagazine) November 3, 2025 The Bitcoin treasury company landscape has expanded significantly in 2025, with new entrants emerging across different regions. Recent data shows that publicly traded companies now hold over $110 billion in Bitcoin, with Strategy remaining the largest corporate holder. The corporate Bitcoin treasury model has evolved from an experimental approach to a mainstream treasury management strategy. We’re seeing unprecedented interest from companies across various sectors and regions. Bitcoin’s price movement following the Strategy’s announcement reflects the market’s growing maturity and reduced dependency on single-entity purchases. While Strategy’s acquisitions historically triggered immediate price rallies, the market now appears to be driven by broader institutional adoption and macroeconomic factors. Despite the recent price volatility, corporate Bitcoin adoption continues to accelerate. We’re seeing a fundamental shift in how companies view Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset. Strategy’s stock (MSTR) has shown resilience amid market fluctuations, with analysts maintaining a positive outlook based on the company’s Bitcoin holdings and its successful capital-raising strategy. The company maintains significant capacity for future purchases, with its combined available issuance across its various ATM programs. As more corporations adopt Bitcoin treasury strategies, the trend appears set to accelerate through 2026, driven by increasing institutional acceptance, regulatory clarity, and the approaching Bitcoin halving event. With Strategy leading the way and new entrants joining regularly, the corporate Bitcoin treasury model has become an established feature of the institutional cryptocurrency landscape. Lolli Acquires Slice to Expand Bitcoin Rewards Across Browsing and Shopping

Lolli Acquires Slice to Expand Bitcoin Rewards Across Browsing and Shopping

Bitcoin Magazine Lolli Acquires Slice to Expand Bitcoin Rewards Across Browsing and Shopping Bitcoin rewards platform Lolli, now a part of the Bitcoin-focused venture studio Thesis*, has acquired Slice, a browser extension that allows users to earn Bitcoin through passive browsing. The acquisition merges two complementary approaches to earning Bitcoin — shopping and passive browsing — into a single platform, simplifying the user experience and broadening opportunities to “stack sats” across everyday online activity. Founded in 2018, Lolli empowers users to earn free Bitcoin on purchases at over 50,000 top retailers and through 1,000+ mobile games. The platform has helped more than 600,000 users accumulate Bitcoin through intuitive, everyday experiences, according to a company release. With the addition of Slice, Lolli now extends rewards to users’ web browsing, streaming, and online scrolling habits, creating a unified ecosystem where earning Bitcoin is seamless. Slice, a browser extension designed to reward users for passive online activity, brings Lightning Network support for withdrawals built into its platform. Quicker withdrawals via Layer 2s This integration accelerates Lolli’s adoption of the Layer 2 network, allowing faster, cheaper, and smaller Bitcoin withdrawals—an improvement that directly addresses user concerns about withdrawal friction and high minimums. “Lightning makes small withdrawals economically viable in a way Layer-1 transactions never could,” the Lolli team said. The merger also signals Thesis*’s continued focus on consolidating the Bitcoin rewards space. Thesis*, founded in 2014, is a pioneering venture studio dedicated to building Bitcoin-first solutions that empower individuals and communities. Its portfolio includes Fold, Mezo, tBTC, Acre, and Taho. The acquisition of Slice marks Thesis*’s second major move in the Bitcoin rewards sector, following Lolli’s earlier integration, and reflects the company’s strategy to unify a previously fragmented market. Matt Luongo, Founder and CEO of Thesis*, noted the strategic importance of the acquisition: “Together, Slice and Lolli will make it easier than ever for newly minted Bitcoiners to stack sats. Users already earning on Lolli will now be able to double down on their rewards potential simply by browsing online.” Luongo also noted that Thesis* is systematically rebuilding Lolli’s app and infrastructure, starting with Layer 2 and sidechain integrations, and plans to expand onchain withdrawal options in the future. From a user perspective, the acquisition ensures continuity: current Lolli users maintain their existing accounts and rewards, while Slice users continue earning Bitcoin through passive browsing. Over time, the combined platform will integrate withdrawals through Mezo, Thesis*’s Bitcoin sidechain, and expand merchant partnerships to create a truly global Bitcoin rewards ecosystem. As the Bitcoin rewards sector continues to grow, this acquisition underscores the broader trend of consolidation and product integration. Bitcoin Price Crashes Down to $106,000 As Red Week Continues

Bitcoin Price Crashes Down to $106,000 As Red Week Continues

Bitcoin Magazine Bitcoin Price Crashes Down to $106,000 As Red Week Continues Bitcoin price continued its slide through much of Thursday, dipping to as low as $106,290 as traders digested a wave of macro uncertainty — from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s cautious tone on future rate cuts to renewed volatility following U.S.–China trade talks. The bitcoin price fell over 3% in early trading before stabilizing slightly above $107,000. The drop extends a multi-day long decline that began after the Federal Reserve delivered a widely expected 25 basis point rate cut but signaled that December’s meeting may not bring another. Powell’s remarks at the post-meeting press conference struck a notably hawkish tone. While acknowledging progress toward the Fed’s 2% inflation goal, he emphasized that the committee had “strongly differing views” and that no decision had been made about a December cut. Traders quickly scaled back expectations — with futures now pricing roughly a 60% chance of another reduction, down from nearly full certainty just a day earlier. “Powell’s comments created a bit of risk-off sentiment,” said Charlie Sherry, head of finance at BTC Markets, according to Bloomberg. “Add in the Trump–Xi meeting stirring markets today, and, unsurprisingly, you get some volatility. Some technology stocks are rallying, but crypto hasn’t followed — which shows some relative weakness and hesitation in digital assets right now.” Treasury yields and the U.S. dollar climbed following Powell’s remarks, while risk assets broadly sold off. The two-year Treasury yield jumped nearly 10 basis points as traders reassessed the Fed’s trajectory. Meanwhile, market attention also turned to Seoul, where U.S. President Donald Trump met with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Trump described the talks as “amazing” and announced a deal to halve tariffs on fentanyl-related goods, claiming the two sides were “pretty close” to a broader trade agreement involving rare earth materials and agricultural purchases. While such developments have little direct impact on Bitcoin, risk sentiment tends to spill across markets — and Thursday’s pullback in equities appeared to drag digital assets with it. SpaceX moves $471 million in Bitcoin Amid the macro jitters, on-chain analysts also flagged large Bitcoin movements linked to Elon Musk’s SpaceX. Data from Arkham Intelligence shows the company moved 281 BTC (worth roughly $31 million) late on October 29 — its fifth transfer this month, totaling 4,337 BTC (about $472 million). The transfers were routed through Coinbase Prime, suggesting institutional custody activity rather than market sales. Some believe SpaceX may be reorganizing its wallets from older Bitcoin address formats (“1”-prefix legacy types) to newer Taproot and SegWit formats. Musk first confirmed SpaceX’s Bitcoin holdings in 2021, though the firm reportedly reduced its stack by about 70% during the 2022 market crash. As of this month, Arkham tracks roughly 7,258 BTC (about $799 million) still linked to SpaceX addresses, though that figure could rise as recent transfers are reclassified. Tesla, meanwhile, retains 11,509 BTC, worth about $1.3 billion, according to the same data. Bitcoin price is waiting for clarity With U.S. monetary policy in flux, trade negotiations uncertain, and major corporate holders quietly reshuffling coins, Bitcoin’s latest move reflects a broader narrative: investors waiting for direction. The next major catalyst may arrive in December — either from a Fed rate cut or from markets losing faith that one is coming. Until then, Bitcoin remains in a holding pattern between macro optimism and monetary restraint. Coinbase Beats Q3 Estimates With $1.9B Revenue, Buys $300M in Bitcoin

Bitcoin Magazine Coinbase Beats Q3 Estimates With $1.9B Revenue, Buys $300M in Bitcoin Coinbase reported stronger-than-expected third-quarter earnings Thursday, posting $1.9 billion in revenue — up 26% from the previous quarter — as renewed crypto market momentum boosted both trading and stablecoin income. The San Francisco-based exchange notched $433 million in net profit, or $1.50 per share, surpassing Wall Street expectations of $1.10 per share on $1.8 billion in revenue. Despite a sequential decline from its record $1.4 billion profit in Q2, Coinbase attributed the drop primarily to non-cash mark-to-market adjustments related to its holdings in Circle and its crypto portfolio. Shares of Coinbase Global (COIN) jumped more than 4% in after-hours trading to $341 following the results. JUST IN: Coinbase announced it purchased $299 million #Bitcoin in Q3, 2025 pic.twitter.com/7axMBTxFw0 — Bitcoin Magazine (@BitcoinMagazine) October 30, 2025 The stock is up roughly 33% year-to-date after peaking above $440 in July. Coinbase also bought almost $300 million in BTC in Q3. CEO Brian Armstrong confirmed via an X post that remains bullish on bitcoin, stating, “Coinbase is long Bitcoin. Our holding increased by 2,772 BTC in Q3. And we keep buying more.” Coinbase trading activity surges due to crypto rally The results came as Bitcoin hit fresh all-time highs during the quarter, fueling renewed retail and institutional activity after a quieter Q2 marked by macro headwinds. Coinbase reported $1.0 billion in transaction revenue, up 37% from the prior quarter and 83% from a year earlier, on trading volumes of $295 billion. Institutional volume rose 22% sequentially to $236 billion, driven in part by the August acquisition of Deribit, the world’s largest crypto options exchange. Deribit contributed $52 million in revenue during Q3 as Coinbase expanded its derivatives business to include 24/7 perpetual futures trading in the U.S. Retail activity also rebounded, with consumer trading volume climbing 37% to $59 billion. Coinbase said new listings and decentralized exchange (DEX) integrations helped boost activity among “advanced traders” the company said, while the company’s platform now supports trading for roughly 90% of all crypto assets by market capitalization. Subscription and services strengthen Coinbase continues to diversify beyond trading fees, with subscriptions and services revenue climbing 14% to $747 million. Stablecoin revenue — largely derived from its role in distributing and managing Circle’s USDC — rose to $355 million, a 43% increase year-over-year. Average USDC balances held in Coinbase products reached a record $15 billion, supported by rising market capitalization and new institutional reward programs. Blockchain rewards, including staking income, grew 28% quarter-over-quarter to $185 million, aided by surging prices for Ethereum and Solana. Meanwhile, custodial fees and interest income both hit new highs as total assets on the platform reached $516 billion. Building toward the “Everything Exchange” Coinbase said it is progressing toward its vision of an “Everything Exchange” — a platform uniting spot, derivatives, and onchain services under one roof. The exchange also highlighted ongoing development of Base, its Ethereum layer-2 network, which has become the leading L2 for stablecoin adoption with $4.6 billion in dollar-pegged assets. CEO Brian Armstrong said Coinbase is scaling payments by ‘advancing stablecoin adoption’ and building the foundation of the future financial system. Michael Saylor’s Strategy (MSTR) Reports $2.8B Q3 Net Income, Bitcoin Gains Soar

Bitcoin Magazine Michael Saylor’s Strategy (MSTR) Reports $2.8B Q3 Net Income, Bitcoin Gains Soar Michael Saylor’s Strategy (NASDAQ: MSTR) released its third-quarter earnings after market close on Oct. 30, posting net income of $2.8 billion. Diluted earnings per share (EPS) came in at $8.42, surpassing analyst expectations of $8.15. As of Oct. 26, 2025, Strategy held 640,808 BTC, acquired for a total of $47.44 billion at an average price of $74,032 per coin. The company reported a year-to-date Bitcoin yield of 26%, generating $12.9 billion in gains amid the ongoing 2025 crypto bull market. Looking forward, Strategy projects full-year 2025 operating income of $34 billion and net income of $24 billion, or $80 per share — highlighting its transformation from a business intelligence firm into a de facto corporate Bitcoin investment vehicle. Total revenues for Q3 reached $128.7 million, up 10.9% year-over-year and above the $118.43 million analysts had forecast. The firm’s Bitcoin holdings have already produced gains of 116,555 BTC in 2025, translating to $12.9 billion in dollar terms based on an average BTC price of roughly $110,600 as of Oct. 24, nearing its full-year target of $20 billion. Michael Saylor is the epitome of a bitcoin bull Michael Saylor said recently at Money 20/20, “By the time the bankers tell you it’s a good idea, it’ll cost $10 million per Bitcoin.” He added that Bitcoin is currently at a “99% discount.” NEW: Michael Saylor says, “By the time the bankers tell you it’s a good idea, it’ll cost $10 million per Bitcoin.” It’s at a “99% discount” right now. pic.twitter.com/qaH4pF9xVj — Bitcoin Magazine (@BitcoinMagazine) October 30, 2025 And Saylor’s public discourse towards bitcoin backs this belief up. Saylor reiterated his bullish outlook on Bitcoin, projecting $150,000 by the end of 2025 and up to $1 million within four to eight years. He cited growing institutional adoption, driven by industry shifts, new investment products, and Strategy’s recent B-minus credit rating, as key catalysts. Saylor highlighted Strategy’s digital credit instruments offering 8–12.5% yields, tax-efficient returns, and tailored risk profiles. He noted increasing acceptance of Bitcoin by major U.S. banks and praised supportive regulatory policies. Strategy with a trillion-dollar Bitcoin balance sheet In a recent interview with Bitcoin Magazine, Michael Saylor outlined his ambitious vision for Strategy: building a trillion-dollar Bitcoin balance sheet to transform global finance. Saylor sees his firm — and potentially other Bitcoin treasury companies — accumulating massive Bitcoin holdings, leveraging the cryptocurrency’s historical 21% annual appreciation to supercharge capital growth. Central to his plan is the creation of Bitcoin-backed credit markets offering yields significantly higher than traditional fiat debt. By over-collateralizing capital, Saylor argues the system could be safer than AAA corporate debt while providing healthier returns for investors. This approach, he suggests, could revitalize credit markets worldwide, offering alternatives to low-yield bonds that dominate Europe and Japan. Saylor also envisions Bitcoin becoming embedded across corporate, banking, and sovereign balance sheets, gradually turning traditional equity indexes into indirect Bitcoin vehicles. This integration could boost public companies, redefine savings accounts and money market funds, and allow tech giants like Apple and Google to bring hundreds of millions into the digital economy. Nordic Giant Nordea Opens Crypto Door with Bitcoin-linked ETP

Bitcoin Magazine Nordic Giant Nordea Opens Crypto Door with Bitcoin-linked ETP Nordea Bank Abp (Nordea) has announced that it will offer its customers access, from December 2025, to a synthetic exchange-traded product (ETP) whose underlying asset is Bitcoin (BTC). According to Nordea’s official announcement, the product will be manufactured externally by CoinShares International Limited and made available through Nordea’s execution-only platform. Under this model, customers may trade the product, but Nordea will not offer advisory services on it. The bank cites two primary drivers for the move: the maturation of the European regulatory environment for crypto-assets, especially following the implementation of the Markets in Crypto‑Assets Regulation (MiCa) regime across the European Union in December 2024; and growing demand for virtual currencies among retail and institutional investors in the Nordic region. The ETP in question is described as a “synthetic” product, meaning it provides exposure to Bitcoin via a traditional financial instrument rather than requiring direct custody of BTC. Nordea emphasises that the offering is aimed at “experienced investors seeking alternative asset exposure.” Here’s the broader context: ETPs and exchange-traded vehicles tied to cryptocurrencies have been proliferating across European venues, enabling both retail and institutional investors to access digital-asset exposure through familiar channels. JUST IN: €648 billion Nordea to allow customers to trade #Bitcoin-linked ETP on its platforms. Europe is coming pic.twitter.com/L8hhxKscIZ — Bitcoin Magazine (@BitcoinMagazine) October 30, 2025 With Nordea’s move, one of the largest Nordic financial institutions is signalling its readiness to integrate crypto-exposure into its product suite. At the same time, Nordea remains cautious. In its release, the bank underscores its historic “cautious stance” toward crypto — driven by the absence of investor-protection frameworks, regulatory clarity and supervision in the early days of the digital-asset markets. What does this mean for Bitcoin? For Bitcoin, this development may carry several implications: access broadened into the Nordic regulated-bank channel; increased legitimacy of ETP wrappers as a gateway to exposure; and potentially stronger competition among product issuers aiming to service bank-platform clients under regulated frameworks. The product’s December launch means it aligns with the current regulatory momentum across Europe. Still, caveats abound. A synthetic ETP structure carries its own risk profile (as investors are exposed via an issuer product rather than holding the underlying asset directly). Also, the “execution-only” nature means that retail customers may buy without advisory support. Nordea Bank Abp is the leading financial-services group in the Nordic region. The group offers universal-banking services including personal banking, business banking, large-corporate and institutional banking, and asset & wealth management. Bitcoin Price Crashes to $109,000 Then Rebounds as Jerome Powell Stays Neutral on Future Cuts

Bitcoin Magazine Bitcoin Price Crashes to $109,000 Then Rebounds as Jerome Powell Stays Neutral on Future Cuts Bitcoin’s price fell to $109,000 Wednesday afternoon after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell signaled that additional rate cuts may not follow in December. Since then, Bitcoin price has leveled near $111,000. The drop came shortly after the central bank reduced its benchmark interest rate by 0.25 percentage points to a target range of 3.75%–4%. The cut — the Fed’s second of 2025 after a move in September — ended a long stretch of rate holds. The policy shift is intended to lower borrowing costs and support economic activity. But Powell’s comments that further cuts are not guaranteed this year sparked selling across risk assets. Before the announcement, Bitcoin traded near $116,000 on Monday and briefly dipped below $111,000 early Tuesday. The price briefly bounced on the news before sliding again as Powell spoke. Bitcoin is currently trading near $111,200, according to Bitcoin Magazine Pro data. During the press conference, as Jerome Powell said that December’s rate cuts aren’t guaranteed, Bitcoin’s price immediately reacted — plunging to $109,000 in a sharp red candle before quickly recovering. The broader crypto market reacted similarly. Powell said that inflation excluding the impact of tariffs is “not so far” from the central bank’s 2% target, but emphasized that policymakers have “not made a decision about December.” Powell noted that officials held “strongly differing views” during today’s meeting. Following his remarks, markets sharply trimmed expectations for another rate cut this year. Fed funds futures now price a 71% chance of a December cut, down from about 90% earlier in the day, according to CME data and on prediction markets like Kalshi and Polymarket. The two-year Treasury yield jumped 9 basis points as traders reassessed the Fed’s near-term trajectory. Historically, Bitcoin has reacted sharply to monetary-policy changes. After the Fed’s emergency cuts in March 2020, Bitcoin plunged nearly 39% before recovering. When the Fed cut in September 2025, market reaction was limited — suggesting expectations were already priced in. Bitcoin price as Fed signals end of Quantitative Tightening Powell also said the central bank is approaching the end of its Quantitative Tightening program, confirming the Fed expects to stop QT by December. This involves letting some holdings of Treasuries and mortgage securities run off the balance sheet as they mature, rather than reinvesting the principal. QT reduces liquidity by shrinking the Fed’s balance sheet through allowing government bonds to mature without reinvestment or by selling them into the market. The process has been underway since 2022, removing nearly $1 trillion in securities as part of efforts to fight inflation. Powell warned, however, that policy will remain dependent on economic data, adding further uncertainty to market expectations. Bitcoin Price Craters to $107,000 as Fed Turns Cautious, Traders React to Trump–Xi Meeting

Bitcoin Magazine Bitcoin Price Craters to $107,000 as Fed Turns Cautious, Traders React to Trump–Xi Meeting Bitcoin price tumbled sharply Thursday morning, falling to the low $107,000s as traders digested cautious remarks from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell and mixed signals from the latest Trump–Xi meeting. The bitcoin price drop erased last week’s rebound and extended the bitcoin’s weak October performance, weighed down by macro headwinds and China-U.S. trade relations. The world’s largest cryptocurrency was down to $107,472 by early Thursday, according to Bitcoin Magazine Pro data, after briefly plunging to $107,925 overnight. Bitcoin price reacts to Jerome Powell’s comments The move followed the Fed’s 25-basis-point rate cut on Wednesday — its second of 2025 — bringing the target range to 3.75%–4%. While the cut was widely anticipated, Powell’s message was clear: further easing this year is far from guaranteed. There were “strongly differing views among policymakers,” Powell said during his post-meeting press conference, adding that the Fed might “wait a cycle” before considering another reduction. The remarks rattled markets that had been pricing in a December cut, with CME FedWatch data showing probabilities for another move dropping from 90% to just 71% after his comments. Risk assets broadly weakened yesterday. The S&P 500 finished flat, the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.2%, and the Nasdaq Composite managed a modest 0.6% gain. As of writing, markets for Thursday look bleak as well. Bitcoin, which traded near $116,000 earlier in the week, sank as Powell spoke, briefly touching $109,000 in a sharp sell-off before stabilizing near $111,000 overnight. The Fed’s tone also overshadowed what had appeared to be a positive outcome from the Trump–Xi summit. Following the meeting, President Trump said China would “immediately resume soybean purchases” and that “all rare-earth issues have been resolved.” Still, it looks like traders remained cautious, focusing instead on the Fed’s hawkish pivot and the ongoing U.S. government shutdown, now entering its fourth week. Institutional demand also showed early signs of weakness. U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $470.7 million in outflows on Wednesday, ending a four-day inflow streak and marking the largest daily outflow since October 16, per Bitcoin Magazine Pro data. Will the bitcoin price react to Quantitative Tightening ending? Powell did confirm that the Fed is nearing the end of its Quantitative Tightening (QT) program — a move that could eventually boost liquidity in risk assets. Since 2022, QT has drained nearly $1 trillion from the Fed’s balance sheet by allowing Treasury and mortgage holdings to mature without reinvestment. Powell said the process could conclude by December but warned that future decisions remain data-dependent. Despite the sharp correction, analysts remain divided on Bitcoin’s near-term direction. Federal Reserve Cuts Interest Rates by 25 Basis Points, Ends Quantitative Tightening

Federal Reserve Cuts Interest Rates by 25 Basis Points, Ends Quantitative Tightening

Bitcoin Magazine Federal Reserve Cuts Interest Rates by 25 Basis Points, Ends Quantitative Tightening The Federal Reserve cuts its benchmark interest rate by 0.25% today to 3.75%-4% The last time the Federal Reserve cut rates was in September 2025. The cut in September was their first rate cut of the year, following a period of rate holds. In general, the Fed lowers borrowing costs for consumers and businesses, aiming to stimulate spending and investment. At the same time, some feel that a rate cut signals underlying economic weakness. Yesterday, Bitcoin was trading at $116,000 yesterday but since slumped down to under $111,000 earlier today. Bitcoin’s price slightly jumped to the high $111,000s as the news came out. It is currently trading at $111,470. Historically, bitcoin responds to monetary‑policy shifts. For example, after the Fed’s emergency cuts in March 2020, Bitcoin plunged nearly 39 % before rebounding strongly. More recently, when the Fed cut rates in September 2025, Bitcoin’s reaction was muted, suggesting markets may have priced in the move. Federal Reserve to stop Quantitative Tightening Chair Powell also said that the central bank is approaching the end of its Quantitative Tightening (QT) program, a move that could provide a boost to risk assets, including bitcoin. The Fed said they will stop QT by December, according to reports. While Powell has previously flagged that the Fed is nearing this stage, uncertainty from the ongoing government shutdown complicated the outlook. With QT concluding, markets should respond positively. JUST IN: Federal Reserve announces it will stop shrinking it's balance sheet on December 1 pic.twitter.com/1SYilnW1cA — Bitcoin Magazine (@BitcoinMagazine) October 29, 2025 Quantitative Tightening is the Federal Reserve’s tool for shrinking its balance sheet and reducing liquidity in financial markets. It operates in contrast to Quantitative Easing (QE), which expands the Fed’s balance sheet to stimulate economic activity. QT typically involves selling government bonds or allowing them to mature without reinvestment, actions that increase bond supply, push yields higher, and raise borrowing costs for consumers and businesses. Higher interest rates generally reduce spending and borrowing, helping control inflation and prevent the economy from overheating. A related process, tapering, slows the pace of QE asset purchases but does not actively shrink the balance sheet. The Fed notably implemented QT in 2022, letting nearly $1 trillion in securities mature to curb inflation after prior QE programs had massively expanded the balance sheet. While effective at cooling inflation, QT carries risks, including market volatility and potential economic instability. The end of QT halts the draining of liquidity from the market, which could free up capital to flow into risk-sensitive assets, like bitcoin and other crypto. MSTR’s Michael Saylor Predicts Bitcoin Will Hit $150,000 by Year-End, Expects $1 Million Within 8 Years

Bitcoin Magazine MSTR’s Michael Saylor Predicts Bitcoin Will Hit $150,000 by Year-End, Expects $1 Million Within 8 Years At Money 20/20 in Las Vegas, Michael Saylor gave a familiar, bullish sentiment for Bitcoin, predicting it could hit $150,000 by the end of 2025 and potentially reach $1 million within the next four to eight years. Speaking to CNBC, Saylor outlined both the industry-wide shifts in digital assets and the evolving investment products his company is offering, framing them as key drivers for institutional adoption. Saylor highlighted a milestone for Strategy: the company recently received its first credit rating from S&P — B-minus — making it the first Bitcoin-focused treasury company to be rated. “It’s a very auspicious start because it represents institutional adoption of Bitcoin-backed credit,” he said, noting that this rating opens the door to hundreds of billions, if not trillions, of dollars in capital that previously would not invest in unrated instruments. Strategy for different investor profiles Strategy has a 70% chance of joining the S&P 500 before year-end, according to 10X Research. Its upcoming Q3 2025 earnings, expected Thursday, could show a $3.8 billion gain from fair-value Bitcoin accounting. Saylor also detailed Strategy’s suite of digital credit instruments, designed to appeal to varying risk appetites. Strike, Strife, Stride, and Stretch offer combinations of principal protection, dividends, and yields from roughly 8% to 12.5%, each tailored to different investor profiles — from those seeking amplified Bitcoin exposure to conservative investors needing low-volatility returns. Uniquely, these instruments generate tax-free dividends structured as a return of capital, giving investors an effective yield comparable to 16–20% on a tax-equivalent basis. “A treasury company built on Bitcoin is the most tax-efficient fixed income generator in the world,” Saylor said. Saylor also underscored the growing acceptance of Bitcoin within traditional finance. Major U.S. banks, including JP Morgan, Bank of America, and BNY Mellon, are now beginning to offer loans collateralized by Bitcoin, while some are moving toward custodying Bitcoin outright. “The train has left the station,” Saylor said. “Everybody’s moving forward.” He argued that the evolving infrastructure, supported by pro-crypto policies from the White House, Treasury, SEC, and CFTC, has created “probably the best 12 months in the history of the industry.” Saylor sees Bitcoin at $150,000 by EOY Looking at the broader digital economy, Saylor emphasized the dual role of Bitcoin and digital assets. Bitcoin serves as a long-term store of value — digital capital — while stablecoins and other tokenized currencies act as medium-of-exchange instruments in an increasingly AI-driven financial landscape. Regarding market trends, Saylor acknowledged the volatility in Bitcoin has moderated as the industry matures, offering more derivatives and hedging instruments. Analysts covering Strategy and the Bitcoin sector, he said, largely expect the cryptocurrency to reach $150,000 by year-end, with longer-term potential for $1 million per coin. Over the next two decades, Saylor forecasts Bitcoin could appreciate by roughly 30% annually. Tether Is Buying Bitcoin’s Revolution, How Devastating Will The Consequences Be?

Tether Is Buying Bitcoin’s Revolution, How Devastating Will The Consequences Be?

Bitcoin Magazine Tether Is Buying Bitcoin’s Revolution, How Devastating Will The Consequences Be? At a Glance The GENIUS Act in the U.S. gave private stablecoin issuers a legal framework while stalling a government issued CBDC. Tether, issuer of USDT, earned record profits and became one of the largest private holders of U.S. Treasuries. The company’s cooperation with regulators and law-enforcement shows how stablecoins function as compliance rails, not as alternatives to them. Many Bitcoin advocates now align with Tether’s ecosystem, unintentionally helping extend the fiat system they claim to resist. Bitcoin’s Quiet Compromise When the GENIUS Act became law on 18 July 2025, the crypto industry celebrated it as the end of regulatory uncertainty. The Act requires licensed stablecoin issuers to hold liquid reserves such as cash and U.S. Treasuries, publish monthly disclosures, and submit to federal or state supervision. At the same time, Congress shelved a federal central bank digital currency. Supporters saw this as a victory for innovation, but critics called it a quiet federalization of private money. The United States no longer needs to issue its own digital dollar. It has simply delegated that function to private issuers operating under oversight. For Bitcoiners, whose movement was built around sound, decentralised money, that shift should have triggered alarm bells. Tether’s Private Empire The biggest beneficiary of this new framework is Tether Limited, whose USDT token dominates global stablecoin supply. In its Q2 2025 attestation, Tether Limited reported a net profit of approximately $4.9 billion and total exposure to U.S. Treasuries exceeding $127 billion. Treasury bills and reverse repo holdings. Its balance sheet showed nearly $120 billion in Treasuries, making Tether one of the world’s largest private holders of U.S. government debt. Custody of those assets rests with Cantor Fitzgerald, the Wall Street firm led by Howard Lutnick. Lutnick has publicly defended the soundness of Tether’s reserves, confirming Cantor’s role as custodian while emphasizing that it holds no equity stake in the company. The connection is now more delicate: Lutnick was later nominated for a senior White House economic position overseeing elements of trade and financial regulation. That appointment places a federal policymaker in proximity to one of the largest private holders of U.S. government debt and the key custodian for a company whose dollar backed token depends on the U.S. Treasuries for profit. The optics are uncomfortable. What began as a business relationship now blurs into a potential conflict of interest, embedding Tether in Wall Street’s plumbing and within the political apparatus that governs it. In effect, Tether has become a private central bank: issuing dollar liabilities, earning seigniorage, and distributing liquidity through the crypto economy, all while piggy backing on U.S. sovereign debt. Its profit per employee rivals the most profitable institutions in finance. Surveillance by Proxy Stablecoins promise fast, borderless payments; however, their architecture depends on compliance. Since December 2023, Tether has maintained a proactive wallet-freezing policy for addresses sanctioned by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control. The company says it has frozen billions in tokens linked to illicit activity and now works directly with the U.S. Secret Service and FBI. This is not inherently sinister, it’s what regulators demand, but it means enforcement now operates within the money itself. The control lever no longer sits solely with banks, it resides in the smart contract of the token issuer. As Tether expands USDT onto Bitcoin adjacent networks such as Liquid and the RGB protocol, the same compliance logic will travel with it. The more Bitcoin infrastructure hosts these tokens, the more identity, KYC, and whitelisting mechanisms will appear around Bitcoin wallets and payment channels. The network that once prided itself on neutrality risks becoming a conduit for surveillance grade rails. The Political Economy of the Digital Dollar The GENIUS Act’s passage also realigned the politics of digital currency. Its sponsors framed it as an anti-CBDC measure, arguing that private stablecoins preserve choice and limit government power. However, the result is nearly identical to what a central bank digital currency would achieve: programmable, trackable dollars, only administered by corporations instead of the Fed. Some analysts have called this the birth of a “CBDC by proxy.” The policy also meshes neatly with fiscal priorities. Every USDT minted represents demand for short dated Treasuries, effectively financing the same government that stablecoin advocates claim to bypass. Tether’s profits flow from the interest rate paid on those securities, an invisible subsidy from public debt to private issuers. By situating stablecoins within the traditional bond market, the U.S. has created a dollar based feedback loop: bitcoin demand supports Treasury issuance, and Treasury yields support bitcoin profitability. In that loop, decentralization is incidental. Co-opting the Bitcoin Narrative Within the Bitcoin community, opposition to altcoins remains strong, but sponsorships, event partnerships, and integrations show how quickly principle bends toward funding. Bitcoin conferences increasingly feature Tether executives and supporters on stage, often framed as “bridges” to adoption. A familiar refrain has emerged among those bitcoiners who take money from Tether, ‘if stablecoins are inevitable, it’s better they be run by Bitcoiners’. Another popular defence is that Tether provides a lifeline for people in countries locked out of the dollar system or suffering from hyperinflation and collapsing economies. This is an emotionally persuasive narrative. These convenient mantras turn compromise into virtue, allowing Bitcoiners to take sponsorships and funding from the same system they once swore to oppose. That logic may offer comfort to some, but erodes clarity. USDT on Bitcoin does not make Bitcoin more sovereign; it makes the dollar more omnipresent. When Bitcoin developers or advocates align with Tether for sponsorship or exposure, they lend moral legitimacy to a system that thrives on fiat’s dominance. The irony is that Bitcoin’s fiercest defenders are now helping entrench the very structure it was built to escape. Follow the Money Tether’s scale gives it power in markets and in messaging. With billions in annual profits and deep links to Wall Street custodians, it can sponsor conferences, fund research, and influence narratives across the digital asset world. Its executives appear frequently at policy forums to present stablecoins as allies of innovation and freedom. Each appearance helps normalise the idea that regulated, dollar denominated tokens represent progress for Bitcoin. But the money tells a different story. Each stablecoin transaction that settles in USDT extends the dollar system’s reach and perpetuates the weaponization of money. Every layer of compliance embeds surveillance deeper into the blockchain economy. And every Bitcoiner who accepts that trade off helps build a network where decentralization endures mostly as branding. Bitcoin doesn’t need a conspiracy against it; it only needs its followers to forget what made it different. The GENIUS Act, the rise of Tether, and the regulatory preference for private rails all point to a future where digital cash exists, but never without permission. The Trojan horse is not Tether, it’s the belief that working with it preserves freedom. In the end, too many Bitcoiners remain exactly where Tether wants them, still tethered to the system they are trying to escape. This is a guest post by Plain Memo.
